I can't free up space in the internal storage MPC ONE

Hi, everyone!

I searched a lot here in the forum, but I didn't find the information I need yet.

I have an mpc one and I'm having a storage problem.

When I click on drive info I am told I only have 40mb free. I already deleted all the projects and samples that I had saved in the internal storage, I already reset the mpc to the factory settings, but without success... I must inform you that my firmware version is the most recent one, 2.11.4. Does it take up all that space on the internal storage?

I would like to be able to reset the internal space of my mpc, because from what I've read, of the 4gb of storage, 2 are free...

Standalone MPC Memory Overview

The MPC X, MPC One and MPC Live (and the Akai Force!) contain 2GB of RAM which forms part of the main board – this is a fixed amount of RAM and cannot be upgraded. The MPC Key has 4GB. Upon booting up your machine, this RAM has to manage the operating system (which is Linux) and also the MPC Software application itself. Any left over RAM can be used in your project to dynamically store all the samples, audio tracks, programs, sequences and effects you have inside your currently active project.

Remember we are not talking about disk storage here, RAM is the dynamic memory used by the MPC to physically hold your currently active project. RAM is cleared each time you turn off your MPC.

Welcome. We've always advised not to use the internal storage as your personal storage. It's possible you may have deleted some default things that needed to "stay" there.

The default internal storage if for OS and default programs.

It's possible you'll have to re-image the internal drive. Akai has to help with obtaining their software for that.

The used 2gb is the expansion content. MPC One and Demos expansions. Some people report having problems after deleting them. I personally have not had any issues.

My guess: You didn‘t delete the project FOLDERS, since by default they‘re hidden in the browser.

Most recent versions (firmware and software) are 2.11.6 BTW, but you‘re safe using 2.11.4 until major bugs are fixed.
