I was talking about network midi driver. Maybe we aren’t talking about the same thing.

Just loaded up a drum kit, made a kick/snare/hat track on two different tracks. You cannot Track Mute one of the tracks and have the other track sound correct, it's still chocking the sample playback *sigh*

I think an easier way is to just duplicate the drum program you're using for each part and everything will work like it's supposed to.

But then if you want to change something in that program down the line and it to be reflected on all the tracks, the headache starts to kick in.

Maybe the solution is to start posting the bug thread of this forum under every single post AKAI makes in social media from now on, idk. If they don't care about fixing them maybe it's time to let people know how things are in AKAI world.

A simple workaround is to change the sub-drum track to a MIDI track. As it was in the video.

Has anyone had the same issue or has an idea, what the problem might be?

You have to download the installer from Akai.

I tryed that last night and I could have installed any PlugIn you can think of, but unfortunatly there was no choise for upgrading the firmware.

How are these small simple things blowing people’s heads up and they can’t comprehend?

Indeed. But, to be fair - sometimes Akai is slow to update the links in all spots. Especially on the International webpages.

I checked on release day and 2.11.7 was updated across the whole website from what I could tell. Even the big red DOWNLOAD MPC button links on the old MPC Live webpage were pointing to 2.11.7.

The fact is, most people don't even bother scrolling from the top of the webpage. They just look at it and go ITS NOT HERE SOMEBODY ELSE DO THE WORK FOR ME, when they could've taken 2 investigative seconds to scroll past the fancy pictures and seen an entire list of EVERYTHING you can download for each product they make. Or they could've clicked those big flashy red buttons on every product page that says DOWNLOAD MPC SOFTWARE on it.

Chatted with Lampdog a bit offline... turns out Instant Track Mute under preferences is causing this problem. I still think this might be a bug in how it is handled, but turning off Instant Track Mutes solves the problem. Doh...

Write Up with more details in the video description if you care.

There have also been times in the past where the text on the download page didn’t match the source file when you hover over it with your mouse. Keep that in mind and watch out for that also.

Yeah I was about to say - Track Mute is working fine for me (but I always have that unchecked in Preferences). Glad you got things sorted!

I rely a lot on this for everything, this one got me pretty salty once too much I think. Back to the 2500, this 2.11 will turn me into the most bitter salty f*ck otherwise.
But really, they need to get serious about fixing bugs and not creating new ones every single new update. This is bad.

Hasn't Instant Track Mute been **** for a bit now? I seem to remember trying out something or other for someone on the forum formerly known as Gearslutz back around 2.9 or 2.10 times and there was something wrong that happened with the instant mutes, but not 'regular' track mutes. That thread is way to big now to bother searching for anything useful but maybe it was the same thing screwing up other instruments or channels. I seem to remember something about it not triggering things properly when un-muted but can't remember. Maybe someone forgot to let Akai know about that way back when. I haven't seen anybody complain about the feature for a bit now.

So just found out this update made my user preset tab disappear and I couldn't save favorites anymore. Rolled back to 2.11.16 and it fixed it. I had tried almost everything short of a factory reset before that so its not a coincidence.
