No drivers needed if you just want the MPC to appear as an audio and MIDI interface. Just a USB cable, and works fine with USB 3 or USB 2. Don't have an MPC Key myself, but all standalone MPCs appear as an audio/MIDI interface when connected to a computer, no config necessary.

the keys midi monitor is playing midi but not at the output usb port , ive tried diff daws , cables and even on Mac’s audio/ midi setup its “ greyed” out not active, like its missing a driver which is installed ( via the mpc software dload page), something strange, perhaps a design flaw

Seems EITHER it works as a controller , pink screen of death but ( outputs midi via usb) or standalone ( doesnt ouptut midi via usb) , such a design flaw , never saw such a thing , others give up on the dualism and use old fashioned 5 pin to trigger onboard/ and computer sounds

in otherwords , no one wants the mpc sofware live, there's better mainstage for example, but one want both to trigger onboard sounds ( key61)and midi , for live playing….,, what worked is connecting an old fashioned midi out cable 5 din to audio device and the DAWS saw it,

Hope that helped.

unfortunately, the
daw doesnt see the 61 in the first place , only via 5 pin. Controller mode nullifies using the synth live along with sounds in a DAW, ( i use mainstage),

X and Keys61 showed up in Reaper Mid/Audio device options.
X was able to USB 3.0 B connect to mpc software vst and on into Reaper daw flawlessly, 32 tracks. NO DIRECT USB to Reaper.

MPC Keys61 just stayed @ “looking for computer”. I matched all Keys61 preferences, midi control options, chnls etc to the same screens as X. It didn’t work. Keys61 didn’t want to find the computer AT ALL.

I decided to usb 2.0 B connect my S2400 to Reaper, 5mins and done, midi tracks and audio tracks directly into Reaper daw. I’m guessing THIS is the functionality you wanted in mpc.

whats a s2400?, i dont use mpc 2 software, but ive tried a usb 2 cable to back of 61 and still no connect, ( 5 pin only works)one wants standalone AND trigger mainstage, reaper, etc

the odd thing when its pink screening “ looking for computer”, the usb midi then goes out, connects to the Daw, which renders the synth absolutely useless for live gig,
