yo i have a mpc but i never really sample but somebody want me to do a rocfella kinda beat my qeston is how?
i know some of you cats on here know this dumbs qeston but i never really sample a loop be4? now i know i speed up with picth then what?

i own a 2000 and sample the record at 45, then tune it to fit in whatever space i need

since most of these old soul records are about 2/3 the speed of a rap beat, playin the record at 45 rpm puts it just about right in sync ith what you're doing

the sped up vocals are just artifacts of the 45 rpm theory that sound real cool when you put `em in

and also adopt your own style.

Actually, I believe it was NO.i.d. who taught (influenced) young college dropout, kayne west how to make beats. I think its so ILL that no id, producer of the classic 'ressurection', taught this young cat how to make beats w/ a little soul in em...and this cat who wants to make wild loot, is bringing that influence to mainstream culture. kanye isnt very street or thuggish...listen to his songs, the guy just makes good music...he makes the same backpacker soul beats that No I.D. does, he just happened to get signed to a more commercial label that knows how to market artists and sell HUGE amounts of records
