Syncing MPC Live/MPX/One to DAW on Mac (midi or ethernet)

What is best (a combination of ease of use and stability) for syncing Logic Pro on my Mac with my MPC Live.

Getting a USB ethernet lead for my MPC and a USB C ethernet adaptor on my MacBook Pro and using a Cat 5 lead....or getting a USB C midi adaptor for my MacBook Pro and using the second midi input/output port on the MPC Live?

Background: I use my MPC Live as an ideas pad and get a load of MPC Drum and Instrument tracks as well as a load of midi tracks connected to all my hardware synths.

Once I've got a 16-bar loop of ideas I want to record all tracks (drum, instrument and midi) to Logic on my Mac.
This means I need to sync my MPC and Logic so I can solo each MPC track and hit record on Logic and it will record the 16 bars from the MPC matching tempo and start of bar 1 on MPC with bar 1 in Logic.

No I don't have Ableton. Also, I hear wifi syncing isn't reliable.

I wouldn't trust wifi for anything sync related hah.

I used to use a USB to Ethernet adapter and synced everything with the AKAI Remote midi ports that show up in Logic (I moved back to Cubase a year ago though). You have to use the "MIDI" one not the "DAW" one. Last few things I tracked however, were just using MIDI cables going from the MPC into my MOTU 828x. There is a bit of lag with ethernet and I always had to move my tracks afterwards to line them up. Syncing over DIN MIDI seems to be a little bit 'tighter' so to speak and lines them up closer to Cubase's grid then before.

I just had a thought. For what I need to do, maybe I could record from my mixer to the inputs of the MPC and have all my 16-bar tracks recorded as audio on the MPC and then copy the audio across to my Mac.

i have very nice experiences syncing my live mk1 with ableton live via ableton link over wifi...

For your purpose,
i’d use midi cable i/o hooked midi interface or one built in your audio interface.
There can be some latency issues, but eventually you will be able to solve it easily.

I tried to use mpc lice 2 as controller mode but in some reason in my powerful mac studio, mpc software use too much cpu power. (As well as it seems it doesn’t work nicely with my rme ufx+ in some reason.)
Now I use ableton link and happy.
But before I used ableton with mpc via midi cables.

P.s ableton link has been reliable for me, but If wifi router is far from my room, I’d have some trouble me think.
