Can't play multiple Armed MIDI tracks. Why?

Hi,

So I'm trying to play multiple MIDI tracks at the same time, to do some splits and layers while playing live. But it ain't happening.

Tell me if I'm wrong. I just need to
- ARM multiple tracks using the red button
- Set up the key ranges as I like
- Play!

I've tried a lot of different combinations of the Monitor, but it shouldn't matter anyway for live playing, right?

I also know to make sure that Mute and Solo are off.

What's driving me crazy is I've had this working before. And I see how people are using Key Ranges to do this on YouTube.

Also, I know I can accomplish this using the MIDI Send To field. But I really want not to have to mess with that, and simply use the ARM feature.

"...different combinations of the Monitor..." - it does matter. If you like to use the red record button to control the output, "Auto" is the only option, as "In" and "Merge" are letting signals through, no matter the recording is switched on or not - "Off" speaks for itself....

But isn't it easier to set all tracks required to "in" and control it using the "Track Mute" view?
Same works if you like to record a live session - just arm those tracks.

Now, why does it not work for you? No issue here, as I use exact the way you've described it, if I rehearsal new ideas and like to record portions of it...... I guess you are arming them in "Track View", as I do it.
I have tried different settings to make it stop working....

Which machine are you using?
I use a MPCX - different behaviour in different hardware?

EDIT: An important source for odd behaviour is also an update of the MPC and NOT resetting the system.
- Boot time after update to 2.11.7 was very looong - "Reset Preferences" did cut it down to normal - whatever this means.

Thanks for the replies, folks. It turns out the issue was on the keyboard preferences for the key 61. I had it set to global, and it needs to be set to global and tracks to play across the multiple tracks the way I want. Anyway, another opportunity to understand what the preferences really mean
