Emax is my favorite rack sampler, it rocks, but you may not be able to hook up a HD to it, you would have been better off with a HD since the SE upgrade is pretty easy to install in any HD and a HD can have scsi easily, yours might tooo, but go to emulator archive and look up emax scsi or upgrades and see if you got the chips. Having a zip rules with an emax.

IMO the keyboard toakes up waaaay tooooo much rtoom, sell it and get a rack HD or HD SE.

It still sounds dope, much closer to an SP 1200 than anything (even that Casio FZ someone was hypin.)

Well, unless you like how big the keyboard is, yeah, sell that shit and get a HD, most HD's are scsi compatible, you just have to put the connector on the back, and the SE upgrade is easy to install, just go to the emax yahoo group and get the files.

It's still good, if you got the space, then cool, but I love the rack emax, so small. I got a HD SE with all the panel graphics and installed scsi myself, it's the one to get, but they all sound good, you just can't hook a zip to any old emax hough, gotta be a HD or HD SE. And you gotta put the connector on too. Ifg that matters to you, get the rack.

I've got the emax rack classic without scsi & i have no complaints at all. floppies are slow, but it's not painfully slow. (Were talkin about less than 720K here) However, if you can add SCSI, it would be dope.

That's dope that you got a library with it. I got couple hundred floppies with mine. Most of the sounds I got sound like they came from the Top Gun or Ladyhawk soundtrack, but a lot of them are pretty inpiring & nasty.

I agree that the keys are huge, but if you have the space and you need a good set of keys, you're set.

I used the emax for the drums on this track:
