I recently replaced my Keystep with a MPK Mini Plus MK3. It has comparable keys and arpeg features, in addition to MPC pads, 8 encoders and more.

Many buttons on the controller match MPC's functionality, and it is integrated well with Akai's Beats software.

It should be possible to map 1:1 to MPC's controls, perhaps even expanding the Q-link capacity along the lines of the X. But I think Akai would have to do this. Either with a MPK or MPC firmware update. AFAIK you can map a limited set of MPC's internal controls but not hardware inputs. So you can make a midi knob control track 1's volume, but not mirror Q-link 1.
