never said that talking about the mpc one XL which seems like it will be a more feature rich version of the mpc one, we all know that the it would make perfect sense to put the batter in the mpc one as its already so small and portable

Think Akai is retuning focus to the traditional MPC form factor; the Live form factor was experimental; and was the logical progression of the exprimental MPC touch.

I recall people complained about the pads being on the left; but with the mpc one the pads are on the left, so go figure.

but the one is more in keeping withthe tradtional mpc layout then the live; so it make sense that an mpc one xl would replace the live going forward assuming that the new mpc one xl adds all the connectivity and the addtional features that the live has.

so very intrested to see how this product turn outs but sounds like a smart move by akai; cos most people are not buying the mpc x form factor and price point.

I know a lot of you guys love the Live (II), but for me having had the touch, that form factor gives me nausea :vomit: only to think to go back to it, I defaulted to the 1k because I could not bear it. I felt so liberated when the One arrived, feels so much at home to me. Of course if I had the space I'll go for the X, because before when I had the space I was rocking a Ren and was very happy with it.

I wish I just bought a MPC ONE instead of bitching about the smaller pads. Almost bought it finally last week until this leak came out.

The thing Akai did wrong was q-link orientation on the One and Live. The firmware is designed for 4 rows of 4 knobs. Swapping that to a single vertical column makes no sense. And if we're convincing ourselves the X footprint isn't a big seller and its a shootout between the One or Live to rule them all, neither are fixing the completely wrong orientation of the q-links. How many times have you changed the wrong control with the single column of knobs?

It makes Financial sense to Akai to use 4 knobs instead of 16. Less Hardware lowers the Cost. I could still get the Job done with ONE Q-LInk Knob :lol:

Muscle Memory will make up for Not having 16 Q-Links

To compound the problem, Akai remapped the qlinks on the Live to horizontal on a lot of the new screens they made.. like the plug in screens etc... But they didn't go back make the older screens (Sample Edit, project edit etc...) horizontal.

On standalone you still can't map 16 midi knobs to sample edit mode with a controller, but you can on the software. It's a moot point though as I finally got use to it

The smaller pads haven't been a problem around here. The pads in the SP404mk2 are smaller and I can rock with it too no problem, those of the One are superior thou to the SPs
What is a problem is not to have the Fkin screen over the pads in the Touch/Live(ii), Why did akai put them side by side is very uncomfortable.IMO.

Sums it ALL up right there. X got me comfortable tho. After that, Keys61's "FEW-Links" aint as comfortable. Still, the rest of the kybd is way better than I expected it to be.
