use MPC one as standalone sampler without internal sequence

hi is anyone using the MPC as a standalone sampler without using the internal sequencer

I used to use the older akai sampler this way - have key groups/kits set up on different midi input channels but the sequencing was via logic pro x or Cubase using midi

is anyone using the MPC in this way? It's something I would like to do at times , but have the notes/grid / quantise etc coming from logic pro x for example.

can I set an instrument program (set of pads) or drum program to different midi input channels and use it this way?

Yes, you can perfectly use it as a sampler/synth/sound module.

I love the sequencer side of it - but sometimes I want to use my daw as the main sequencer and not get into clocking etc.
