MPC Audio Track Record automatically trims start position

Hi,
I‘m using an external audio interface and checked the recording latency.
When I record the metronome back through my external input into an audio track I see the ticks align with the grid.
However when I stop recording, my clip automatically gets trimmed at the start so that the first tick dissapears. This is by an amount of around 500 samples according to the sample edit page. This would swallow any transient at the start of my recording.

Why is this?
Can I disable this?

But no solution / workaround yet?

Does the trim amount change when changing buffer size? Does the trim amount equate to that?

It‘s in standalone mode. Unless I miss something, there is no option to change the buffer size.

So it works like it should? What's the problem then?

MPC Audio Track Recording sets sample start automatically to around 500 samples.
If you want the actual recording you have to turn off grid lock and manually align each recording to where it was recorded.
If you play it as is, any transient at the beginning would get swallowed and the recording would not be in sync with your MIDI data in your sequence.

This may be a complete red herring, but are you sure it's not a function of the signal threshhold you set for the start of sampling/recording? Perhaps try a lower threshhold so that recording starts as soon as the transients become audible?

I tried, but no luck.
I tried a few global setting combination, but every audio recording automatically gets set to sample start at 672 samples.
There is no logic behind this.

The internal audio does not seem to have such trimming. Is this an external interface specific problem?

I use an external interface indeed: Focusrite 18i20.
Can somebody confirm this behaviour with an interface?

For what it's worth, with the Force, I'm getting a sample start position of 384 both with the Force's internal audio interface and Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen. That is, I record an audio clip and go to the Sample Editor to see what the sample start is.
