Solo mode

Hi, so somehow I entered Solo mode for part of a track.. got no idea how to remove it
Shows a spike in the Solo graph

No right mouse button context on solo
No ability to drag the wave down

I mean .. what the heck

Event list edit probably the easiest way to find and delete.

I also stop mute events being recorded and read in options.

So I've searched the manual for "event List" nothing found

I've looked through all the options for event list in the studio x .. nothing found

Ok so I've worked it out, you can actually drag the MUTE or SOLOR bars down in PAD Mixer, that fixes it

And since I did that, now the keyboard input is muted

For some reason I needed to press the red record on the new track
Ok that makes sense, so my other tracks are playing through without this .. ok

MPC need to test their user experience, this is one of the worst Ive seen. SPending an hour to work out something so small is terrible waste of time, I dont mind (like I did with octatrack learning the advanced stuff), but this is awful on the basics.

Hit menu.

Look for list edit.

So have you read any of the manual/bible.

Have you watched any beginner guides or are you just winging it and hoping to puzzle it all out as you go.

There is a wealth of resources available to help you get started.

Yes.
And in this day and age, that's exactly what you are supposed to be able to do - find functions naturally and gradually.

And if you don't like what I'm saying, I'm sure Akai would be interested in reading this as they want further sales and more intro users to adopt quickly.

Perhaps you read the manual because you like to know everything before you start. Many don't.

And before you say, how an earth am i winging it

Thats what 35 years writing software does to you. I should be able to get 60% of the way there with this approach.

The hard stuff, well, i expect to have to research. But the stuff I am mentioning is not hard.

Sure you can talk about winging it, and how you're a software guy and expect things to be easy to work out, but that's just not going to help you, as you appear to be finding out.

The mpc is an instrument. You wouldn't walk up to a guitar and assume you know how to play it, or a sax (repeat to fade).

You're going to find your experiences much more positive, if you at least try to learn how things work, by using the manual or the very well written and easy to follow Bible.

Telling the forum that you're winging it and have a disregard for the manual, is only going to be met with head shaking and negative replies.

This forum is full of good people, helpful and experienced people. You give a little, you get a lot.
