I usually record each verse on a different track. I dont know why, I guess so I have more control over the project. I mean, some artist dont have the same energy on each verse, or the same volume, so I have to find a way to equal them out. Like the verse might be cool, but then when they get to the hook, it takes a 3db jump. If its all on one track then I am stuck, but If I have them on seperate tracks, then I can level them out. As far as the sound being the same, as long as you bus everything the same the sound should remain the same. But like others have said, It depends on what you are recording.
