Just opened a brand new Live 2. I would like to install the new Instrument collection, but I'm afraid that I will fill up the internal HD in the process. I can click on the install link - but I do not know if I will get a prompt to select a location for them or its just gonna dump them on the internal HD.

Where do you install the content of all those new plugins ?

Should I buy an extra HD to get the new plugins ?

Can the content be moved afterwards to a second HD ?

Under the Live2 there is a door, open it, place an computer formatted (exfat) ssd in there. Live2 will see it and you can save ALL your stuff there. DON’T use the internal drive. There a million and 1 warnings against use the internal drive.

I don't believe it's possible to install the additional plugin content directly to the internal factory drive, the only option is to install to one of your attached drives. I believe only the MPC Key has those premium plugins installed internally.

If you download the plugins directly from the 'Activate Plugins' screen there should be an option at the bottom of the screen to select the installation drive. Unless something changed recently, the internal factory drive wouldn't be an option for the Live 2.
