I am syncing up my MPC to Acid using Acid as the Master...but I am losing a bit of sync and I am trying to sort out the buffer on my soundcard settings...

On my Terratec soundcard I have got DMA Buffer Transfer Latency and ASIO Buffer Size...which one should I be altering to get my MPC to sync nicely?

I assumed it was the ASIO buffer but I have altered that and I cant really notice a difference....

My DMA Buffer Transfer Latency is set at 28msec
and my ASIO Buffer size is set at 1600 Samples/Buffer...

Taking into account my PC is kinda sh!t.....can anyone tell me if this is a reasonable setting?.....its not loads out of sync I just need to get it crisp...and am having a little difficulty...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thats has nothing at all to do with MIDI SYNC!
As far as I know....there should be a offset setting you can fiddle with on the ACID program. This offset should compensate the difference.
If its one of them problems where it looses time increasingly then sorry...someone else might be abled to help.

I've found offset in my MIdi midi settings and it is set at 0000...so I'll have a little mess with that..

no problem...

one extra tip, usually when u have it snyced up and primed should i say ... the MPC will already be showing the offetting time its starting at.
i think thats mainly for MTC not sure. but when I put my DPS16 to my mpc the mpc instantly starts from 01.01.24 instead of 01.01.00 so on the DPS i i turn it up to 01.01.27 or so till the mpc reacts instantly to changes to 01.01.00

Do it and check how it responds instantly.

I tried changing the settings from 00.00.00 to 02.00.00 and like you said I looked to see if the MPC had instantly changed and I couldn't see any difference in the numbers on the MPC..

How did u go about making sure your offset settings were spot on?

Why do 02.01.00 ??? how badly is the offset?? <--thats a whole bar off!

when u snyc it it will tell you..if not then when you play it on midi clock slave how much does it fall out on.
anyway the offset are never that hi! there always around 01.01.25

Penfold I really apologise... ..I have been using the Midi Clock up until now....

When I use the MTC I can't even get the MPC to respond...I've changed the Midi In on the MPC to Midi Time Code, and set Chase To Midi Time Code on Acid....

No matter what the offsetting it isn't working...where will it tell me if it is sync'd correctly?

I am a proppa novice when it comes to MPC to Computer and I am not sure that I quite grasp it.
