hi i bought an mpc one on ebay and i want to know if there is a possibility to check if every button and pad works correctly?
i think the older mpc´s had a button combination and the machine checked everything

How do you do that on the MPC One?

There is no test mode like on a cellphone for instance where you power up the cellphone one way and it will test every I/O, the screen, ... at least the process has not been publicly disclosed by AKAI. So you need to test all the I/O and interface manually.

Its all a big gamble...ordering a 2nd hand MPC from online. Afterall, its a reason they're selling it for cheaper

Yes there is a test mode.. its like.. hold overdub, stop and play start and hit power. or some combo of the like. its been refered to as "orange mode". It inits the "TestApp" for your unit. (Not in hakai though i removed the test apps to save space as they are mostly redundant and its a quick jump to ofw if i need to test)

No need to... as all gear it does a power on self test.
Any further checks would require user interaction anyway, so you can just start to press buttons and move dials one by one.

I Just ordered a used MPC X From Guitar Center for $999 Paid $100 extra for a 5 year warranty.

If its from the original batch it could be 7 like years old. (wonder if there is a ez way to find the manufacture date) Got to watch it on these X's.

If the pads are bad I may attempt to replace myself. I'm just worried about screen death or audio boards dying. (ive seen a few complaints about this happening online)

I hope Guitar Center is good I have to repair it.

The bad omen is it took a 8 days after I paid for them to get it the mail. But they did pay extra for next day AIR.

Hopefully they took the time to find a good one cuz I got that warranty.

That Extended Warranty is the BEST Move you made! Trust me on that one
