Importing old MPC projects…

I have a 2500 that I haven’t used in years, but made numerous tracks on/with almost 20 years ago.

I know there’s a way to import those old projects/programs/sounds into the new MPCs (I have an MPC X). Every tutorial I’ve seen on YouTube talks about importing them into the MPC Beats software. However, I only use my X in standalone mode.

Does anyone know the process for importing those old 2500 projects/etc into an X in standalone? I’d love to play around with some of my old bears with the X’s FX and other capabilities.

Just load them via the browser.

I just saved my 1k 25k memory cards to the X internal drive and load them up.

Need to convert jjos instrument programs to keygroups and some parameters are off but wasn't much of an issue.

Pardon my ignorance, but how would I get the 2500 files into the X browser? Connect the 2500 to the X via a usb cable?

The MPC2500 files will either be on a CF card or an internal drive. Either way, put your CF card into your MPC2500, connect your MPC2500 to your computer via USB, go to the LOAD > USB screen and mount the MPC2500,. In your computer copy the MPC2500 files from your CF card (or internal hard drive) to a location on your computer. Now copy those files to whatever disk you use with your MPC X (SD card, USB drive etc).

Or if you have a USB to-CF card reader, connect this to your MPC X and have it read the MPC2500 CF card directly.

Great. This worked… although the sequences are a little out of wack.. but that’s to be expected, I think. Either way, I appreciate it. Thanks.
