Using superior drummer as a vst plug-in for MPCX

I just bought superior drummer 3 and can’t figure out how to use it with the MPCX. Has anyone figure this out yet? I tried selecting it through the desktop version of MPCX. No luck. I watched a YouTube video called “ how to install VST plug-ins in MPC beats “ and ( 2 minutes into that video) superior drummer three did show up in the Scan (c: program files\VSTplug-ins\Toontrack\ superior drummer 3.dill) however, it’s not showing up under the VST plug-ins (2:20 of the video)
I have a midi keyboard. I don’t care if I have to use the keyboard or the pads but I need to be able to record drum tracks in the MPCX while hearing the superior drummer 3 sounds. I’d like to be able to just choose between and add a superior drummer 3 drum kit to my pads like the preset kits that are already pre-installed in the MPCX, if possible…

Do other VST show up? Like any VST plugins downloaded from the internet? or is the issue exists only with Superior Drummer 3? Proceed by elimination.

From what I understand, you can only use third-party VSTs with the MPC Software (so controller mode). As of today, the MPC X still doesn't support VSTs in standalone mode.

Btw, can you autosample drum vsts to keep a standalone version? I know about the keyprogram autosampler but drums

Yes. Set stride to 1 (everyone)
And 4 layers of velocity
Be a big old keygroup though.

oh, so no drum program? Is there any reason for that do you think, it feels like auto sampling drum vsts would be a very natural feature to expect

Could load all the samples and layers into a drum program but it's a thankless task.

Haven't paid much attention to differences between program features drums keygroups.

But yeah. Autosamplers dumps em into a keygroup.

When I open superior drummer 3, I click on settings > Audio/MIDI setup… > MIDI Device > and I have three options.

1. My electric drum kit.
2. Akai Network - MIDI
3. Akai Network - DAW Control

Can somebody explain to me exactly what 2 and 3 mean? If they’re popping up as options with my drum kit, doesn’t that imply that I’m able to use these to control the sounds within superior drummer 3?

No, I’m new to all of this. So I don’t have any other down loaded plug-ins. There’s a couple from a music studio called magix (2011). And those pop up in Ableton 11 as options. But what I’m seeing with superior drummer three when I scan for the VSTs is that it’s “skipped” which somebody from YouTube told me that usually means it’s not compatible or not downloaded right.

Today I connected Ableton 11 live to the MPCX using the desktop software. I was able to not only use the pads, but my drum kit as well to create/record midi notes in the MPCX. By routing it as a midi track on the main screen. But when I went back to play back those notes, I could not hear them in the MPCX. Also, I could only hear it while performing it, by having the headphones plugged into my laptop. I gotta be honest man. This shit is driving me crazy. Lol who creates a drum plug-in that you can use for your **** drum recording. I’m hoping I’m just stupid and not understanding this which is actually pretty close to the truth. Lol

Because the kits in a vst are standard midi instruments that run in chromatic order like any other instrument.. autosampler is built to sample instruments, so you’ll just need to either treat the drum kit as a keygroup instrument (sampling with a note stride of 1) or take the resulting samples and build your own mpc drum program, which will only take a few minutes especially if you use the mpc software to drag and drop direct to pad layers
