IF I CANT BURN MY TRACKS DOWN TO A WAVE WHY DO THEY CALL IT A CDR INSTEAD OF A CD PLAYER

why you typin all caps cuz?

CDR disc - the "R" is for READ. Which means the disc can READ/PLAY only.

CDROM drive - "ROM" means READ ONLY MEMORY. The drive can Read/Play ONLY.

CDRW disc - the "RW" is for ReWriteable. Which means the disc can be WRITTEN TO/RECORDED TO (also can be played).

CDRW drive - the "RW" is for ReWriteable. Which means the drive can be used to write(record), ReWrite (overwrite), the drive can be used to burn and play CDR and CDRW disc.

then there's DVD R-, DVD R+, DVDRW's, that's a different story for a different bedtime.

So what is the cdr for i know its for loding and playing a cd but my sample memory is getting full so y cant i burn my my song s can i burn programs or what

I'm assuming that you are speaking about the CD-RW on the MPC 4000?

If so, you can NOT burn Audio CD's as you have indicated but you can burn Data CD's.

You can burn via either CD-R or CD-RW, any of your Sequences, Programs, Multi's , Samples
to CD. You can burn All Memory to CD, and then take that CD to any MPC 4000 in the world
and have it load it in and sound exactly like it did on your MPC.

Hi,
First off, let's make sure we are talking about the same thing.

When it comes to memory, there are 2 types on the MPC 4000.

The RAM and Hardrive.

What the MPC 4000 CDRW does, is give one the ability to back up what is currently
in RAM to a CD. This is the ONLY way to burn to CD as far as I know on the MPC.
One can take the current contents of RAM and burn it to a folder on a CD-R or CD-RW
until the CD Disk is filled up.

One is NOT able to burn the contents of the harddrive directly to CD-R or CD-RW.
One has to load, to RAM memory (via Load page) and then Burn to CD-R or CD-RW.


If you want to back up the contents of your MPC harddrive and retain the folders and
organization that you have done, then you will need to use Ak.Sys to transfer the files
to your PC and burn it that way. That method will retain your folders and folder
organization.

"MEMORY TO CD" function
that shows how to burn a cd using the "Utiltity" f2 softmenu that is available in the
Load and Save pages.
