MIDI CC received on MPC but MIDI Learn doesn't map them

Short demo:



- MPC One receives knob events (CC 21 to 28) from Launchkeys, with correct values
- "Learn" enabled in MIDI Learn panel
- MPC doesn't map the received CC through MIDI Learn

What did I miss ?

Tried resetting stuff a few times... I'm actually glad that it consistently fails - as a computer guy I shudder at the thought of intermittent behaviour.

I had not set that keyboard to 'Control' ... But with 'Control' set I get a different (better ?) strange behaviour but no MIDI learn yet.

I put the videos in a dedicated playlist, to follow up on the resolution process.

I am just now hitting the same problem on MPC Live 2 with 2.11.8 and an Akai MPK 225 connected via USB.

Connecting via MiDI 1 input does not fix the problem. After changing input, midi monitor still shows the incoming notes, but Midi Learn does not see them.

I think I found a solution.

1) Reset preferences.
2) Then set the midi input to control.

This worked for me with midi coming into the din from an Akai MPk225 set to present 25 Generic.

I was able to map k1 and k5 knobs to opx4 lfo1&2 speeds. I was able to go into program edit and watch the LFOs change as I spun the knobs.

I'm having this exact same problem. Reset preferences did not fix it.

Edit: Got it working. After setting my controller to control, I then reset it controller and when I set it to control the second time it worked. Weird but I'm happy its working now.

I found the answer - it is, of course, a quintessential "I should have read the manual better" solution !

So, there: I did not show the MIDI input ports configuration in the video, but I reviewed it and tried enabling "Control" ("Master" is disabled and "Track" is enabled) - and MIDI learn now works as advertised.
