- There is an issue (I only recently discovered) when saving projects with the # symbol in project name or containing folder name.
- The solution/workaround is to use a name without the # symbol in it!!
- I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere so thought I'd post it up here. I made Akai aware of it and they confirmed that it is an issue..

Correspondence with Technical support re: Issue [#inMusic-202078]:-

30 Mar - ME:
I just tried saving a new project on my MPC One, using a name with a # in it and got error message
"ERROR SAVING MPC PROJECT"
When I leave the # out of the name it is fine.
Weird that the system still allows you to use the # when typing the name..

31 Mar - Akai:
Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble.
I tested this and was able to confirm that projects with the # sign are coming back with the "Error saving project" error. I will look further into this and follow up with you.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know.

31 Mar - ME:
Thanks - I look forward to hearing your progress.
It is easily worked around obviously, but glad to know you take it seriously.

Apr 5 - Akai:
Thank you for your reply.
My pleasure. If this turns out to be a bug, it will be corrected in a future update. Have a nice day.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know.

I have a bit similar issue when I use samples containing special characters. From memory I think it were samples containing this symbol ().
Loads fine, but after slicing I have to reassign the program containing the sliced sample everytime I reload the project.. Could be worse though

Which is that? the '(' and the ')' or a different one?

It's not surprising that there are some issues honestly.
As far as I've been able to tell Drum and key group programs are only XML text files and are sensitive to some characters, hence the input keyboard in standalone doesn't allow for every possible character. I think by doing that they are trying to avoid problems, but some slip through.

If that issue is giving you real problems though, you might just rename the samples on a computer and edit the XPM files by hand..

Ha ha - it's not the first time we've been doing support teams jobs..
We're already the Akai QA team and integration test team..

I dont know which of the two symbols but it's not a big deal reassigning the program after loading. It's the samples with "nameofvideo (downloaded from YouTube)" lol
