hopefully this is a quick fix but also i suspect if Akai drops 3.0 at NAMM in a week, may be moot depending on what any new firmware changes bring

So it seems in a standalone machine your license activation should remain active unless you log out. There shouldn't be any timeout (e.g. 90 day re-activation demand), so once authorized your machine can remain offline forever and all plugins should stay authorised. The moment you log out, the plugin authoriation is wiped and you need to re-authorize.

So basically, stay logged into your machine and you're all good. I have found the MPC frequently logs me out at random, hence frequent deactivation of plugin licenses. Maybe this is related to the timezone bug.

Thanks for your message. Our plugin authorization is designed to work entirely seamlessly and offline once you have authorized a purchase; there is no timeout. However we’ve identified an issue related to DST time zone adjustments that can, in rare cases, cause a re-authentication request. We’re working on a fix for this right now.

While you're at it, could you also petition all other bugs away? And disk streaming etc.

So, to sum up, Akai support do not know exactly if their plugins need periodical reauthentication or if their software has a bug that leads to frequent log outs and needs fixing. Either inMusic are shitty for mistrusting their users or they are because they can’t even sort out bugs that have an effect on licences that users paid money for? Do these log outs happen in relation to an internet connection being present or is it totally independent?

Again, this at least is something that NI has down. Once something is authenticated it works even if you log out of Native Access or even if your transfer your license to another user. Perhaps a loophole in rare occasions but a very user friendly one that makes license handling rock solid for their products…

I run my music pc offline as much as possible and have never had to re-authorise an Akai plugin...until I got FlexBeat a few weeks back. I had to authorise it a second time, then realised it was the day of the clocks going forward. No problems since

They Know its not a bug. Its a feature to curtail Piracy of their Plug-Ins. I get it. Its like Makin your Kid check in and call you every Hour to make sure they're not Kidnapped

My plugins just deauthorized the 2nd time again and it happened in my holiday abroad again.
How does my mpc know that it's abroad, the wifi is switched off all the time

I have had this happen to me once after powering up my Keys 61 recently after the 2.12.1 update, I left the Wi-Fi on in standalone mode, I’ve owned this since day one without any plugin activation problems, always smooth and easy. So I’ve found that leaving your Wi-Fi enabled in standalone mode this screen will pop up now and then about activating plug-ins. Turning my Wi-Fi off in the MPC setting fixed this and I haven’t had a pop up windows since.

Good to know! Still sounds like a bug though - having your WiFi on or off shouldn't make the plugins deactivate unless you physically log out of your account. Might be worth reporting as a bug...

What firmware are you on?

The latest firmware and I have bought OPx-4 and Delay pro which are deactivated right now which isn't so bad and I still can make beats and all that.

But the weird thing really is that my mpc is at home in germany and the WiFi is normally deactivated at home. The plugins never wanted a reauthorization there.

Brought it with me on a trip to Sri Lanka in April and immediately the plugins deactivated there. Now i am in Indonesia and boom, plugins deactivated. Wifi was off in both cases.. How does the mpc knows it's abroad^^

The only way your MPC/Force can detect time-zone is if the WiFi is on, or if it is plugged into any router with Ethernet with a physical CAT5 cable that happens to also have Internet access. So that's most certainly a mystery!
