Cubase user?

We're kind of on a path to no VST2 already, M1/M2 Mac's cant use them, and you can bet Steinberg is going to kill it off for Intel machines (including Windows) any time now. Got rid of all mine, because just about everything now has a VST3. Only ones I really need to keep around is the Korg Collection because their VST3's actually pull the GUI from the VST2s. If you delete the VST2's you get a generic slider interface with the VST3's.

Devs need to get their shit together already. Steinberg warned everyone and pulled the plug on VST2 over a decade ago, its time for devs to do what they were supposed to back in 2010.

Have you played around with chopping up beats in Groove Agent at all? Groove Agent+Halion and Cubase's sequencer make me think about ditching the MPC and going back in the box a lot lately.

Who the ʞɔnⅎ is Neurone? :hmmm:

Not even a big fan of him, but I still respect that he did what many of us is trying do, by becoming a somewhat successful music artist. Why would you hate on that on music forum?
But do you I guess

He's from Tokyo, so while he might have heard many of JD's hits, the other stuff just might not have come his way.

In a nutshell, he helped define one of the major shifts in hip-hop and rnb in the early-mid 90s.

He brought us Kriss Kross, Usher and Lil Kim, and co-produced Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby and Honey, which helped define her new sound.

I have not tried groove agent at all since I'm stubborn with laying my drums in the MPC.. however yes Halion 7 owner they do have good sounding libraries ..

I didn't touch it for like a year and just a couple months ago decided to check it out. It's like the MPC's drum programs on crack. I used to drop beats in a Sampler Track and do the slicing there, and then send it to Groove Agent, but I realized when you do that it chops up the sample and gives you individual hits (like the MPC can but with no options). But, if you do your chopping inside Groove Agent, you can keep the sample intact, like Pad Parameters on the MPC, or you can actually chop it up.

The editor is just as easy and fast as the MPC too. Zero snaps, REAL looping, REAL modulation and filters, time/pitch stretching, the works. I think the thing I really like the best is once you chop up your beat, if you lose the original MIDI data, you just click a button and drag the pattern back into the track. With the MPC, once you mess up that original pattern, the only way to get it back is to either figure it out or chop up the sample again and make another Program and export the data when you make it.

Has a whole pattern section to keep MIDI clips too for each one. Me being a Jungle guy, oh man. I got 20 variations of the Amen chopped up ready to go in one single preset along with the samples and everything. Just drag, drop and rave away..

Him being from Tokyo is not a good excuse to make a comment like that on a music forum. Members here of all people should know how hard it is to make a name for yourself as a music artist. Japan like most places, many of its people got hate for black people but steal our culture - Don't get me started about Lofi-girl Hip-Hop :Sigh:

Are you for real? Do you realize that you are in a sampler related forum? Hint: Sampler is the key word.
IMO Culture is not stolen, it is absorbed. Culture influences, it does not go anywhere. If you go to Japan for instance and live there for a period of time, or you listen to japanese music, or read japanese books etc... You like it or not would be influenced by their culture, and if you are an artist, you would be infusing their culture in yours, like it or not. That is not stealing. So please, stop the gatekeeping xenophobic coments. Is it not his right not to know or not like Jermaine Dupri? In which ways it is affecting you? Why are you policing the forum determining which comments are valid or not? :Sigh:
EDIT: It can be also possible that he is doing brostep with his MPC...did you think that?

I know this is a sampler forum & I guess your saying everybody is stealing other people's music, but like you said he may make brostep, so why point out that I made a blind assumption (which I didn't - I never said he personally stole anything, I don't know him or the music he makes) then start your point by making a blind assumption? It's possible some people don't use other peoples music to feed their samplers...did you think of that? If that's even the point you trying to make if not correct me or be more clear next.

Are you for real by thinking cultural styles can't be stolen as well as be influenced by other cultures? It can stolen by "absorbing" something then remaking it in their but then not acknowledge the the original makers. I don't know you but if your not black American you may not understand where I'm coming from & that's OK. With sample culture in Hip-Hop we all know its other's ppl music even if we don't know the sample. No beat maker was acting like they invented soul, funk, blues, rock..etc.

What I meant about Japan stealing from black culture was more like; trying playing Lofi-Girl Hip-Hop fans original/classic Lofi Hip-Hop & most of the young ones will tell you that's not real Lofi HH :Sigh: The Lofi HH reddit sub looks so much like some Asian anime site that you wouldn't think black people had anything to do with creation of it Lofi HH & if you post non-Lofi-girl HH you might get down voted because of that, even if your beat is fire. I still love anime which is strange if I'm xenophobic  but damn they over do that shi* so much that when most ppl think Lofi HH they think Asian cartoons which hardly if ever have black ppl & if so, it's mostly some racist shi*t. (Whole another topic)

How I'm xenophobic I never said anything hateful about Japan. Stating that many (not all) Japanese ppl dislike black people or outsiders isn't xenophobic it's a fact that Japan has a high level xenophobia. Which is biting them in the ass right now (Low birth rates, too many old people & not enough immigrants). But I've seen YT videos of US blacks in Japan & know the racism there isn't on the same level as here in the USA.

By asking me something that already answered shows that you didn't fully read or comprehend my comments. I said I'm not even a big JD fan, but why hate on him like that on a music forum...Read my earlier post again.
 This question is key, How come you didn't have a problem with the hateful statement he said if your so concern about hate speech????
If he didn't know about him which is his right, why did he come out his mouth like that? It's my right to ask or is that not OK Mr. Officer?
My comments wasn't for you but your defending him like a forum cop which is cool but be a fair cop. At least point out we both were "xenophobic". But you you didn't why? Is only ok to say "who the Fuc* is some black artist" but not talk about Japan? That's what it looks like. You may be xenophobic & don't know it, but its showing.
Why are you policing the forum determining which comments are valid or not? :Sigh:

What's your definition of "gatekeeping"?
