Just wondering how you guys are doing this most efficiently.
I'm used to a very linear workflow for songwriting.
If I create a track first containing just a bass part but then I want the same track but later containing drums, synths, whatever - what is the most efficient way to do so ?
My intuition tells me write the bass part for one track then add it to a seq. Next duplicate that Seq / Track and add the required extra components but this does mean a lot of copy and pasting.
Is there for example a way to write the whole seq and then mute out the unwanted parts and save that as a sequence in its own right with the parts muted that I don't want to hear ?

Just intrigued as to how the experienced guys are approaching this ?

Cheers.

Whole track one seq. 4/8/16 bars
Mute elements and create the variations

Then copy out seq many times and mute/ unmute to build parts.

Once the rough arrangement is there I'll build in song mode and convert to new seq with muted parts ignored.

Edit then rec automation.

That works best for me. Many ways to skin a cat

SEQ1 / TRK1 KIK / TRK2 SNR / TRK3 HAT / TRK4 HHAT / TRK5 BASS / TRK6 PIANO / ETC
SEQ2 / TRK1 KIK / TRK2 SNR / TRK3 HAT / TRK4 HHAT / TRK5 BASS / TRK6 PIANO / ETC
SEQ3 / TRK1 KIK / TRK2 SNR / TRK3 HAT / TRK4 HHAT / TRK5 BASS / TRK6 PIANO / ETC
SEQ4 / TRK1 KIK / TRK2 SNR / TRK3 HAT / TRK4 HHAT / TRK5 BASS / TRK6 PIANO / ETC
SEQ5 / TRK1 KIK / TRK2 SNR / TRK3 HAT / TRK4 HHAT / TRK5 BASS / TRK6 PIANO / ETC

1 inst = 1 trk. Chain those together in Song Mode.
