MPC Key 61 Midi out

Hi,
Trying to sync a Soundbrenner wearable Metronome up for live use with a drummer via a WIDI MASTER.
Is anyone doing this?
1. On all other gear WIDI MASTER is powered by midi output, no problem.
Not so on the MPC KEY 61?

2. Is it possible to connect MIDI out of
MPC KEY 61 to the midi in of Focusrite Scarlett’s interface ?? Not working.

It seems the midi out not functioning correctly? Or I’m missing a setting somewhere.
I’ve been searching forums and YouTube for days.

Any help much appreciated.

Can't speak for the 61 but I have powered MIDI Solutions boxes from my Live's MIDI Out.

One other quick question:
Without going into Controller Mode, is it possible to control other midi devices with the transport and controller knobs and tempo, etc?? I would expect so, but I’m having issues.
In the settings of Preferences>Midi/Sync settings I’m guessing?

Any ‘settings’ tips?

You should be able to access the midi port on the unit when in controller mode, but not on the focusrite (if the focusrite is plugged into the mpc) when in controller mode it de-initalizes the external soundcard.

What about if it’s NOT in controller mode.
Basically I was hoping to utilize the controllers and send via midi without being in controller mode??

If your focusrite has its own midi ports, those should show up in the settings > midi menu. the ports on your mpc are labled MPC in that menu and the focusrite will be named something else.

you can send midi without being in controller mode by using a midi program. like a drum program or synth program, you'll have to select the channel and port via the track menu. (where you see all the volume stuff and diff program lanes)

I’m not seeing “Settings > Midi Menu”
I see Preferences > Midi/Sync

For Output Port it just has ‘Midi Port’ and ‘Remote’.
I have that set on ‘Midi Port’

On back of unit have midi cable going Midi Out to Focusrite Scarlett’s Midi In port.
Still can’t trigger the midi port on the Scarlette or any thing else I hook up via midi.
Stumped.
In Track screen, midi outs are not listed.
