samplekings suggesting mpc one mk2 will come with 4GB and expanded storage, and also speculating that there will be an mpc live 3 with 4GB and improved storage at the end of the year, then mpc 3.0 to come in jan 2024 namm.

Nothing that we haven't already discussed previously in this very topic. MPC-Forums always first for all the latest speculation

I think the only discussion point that was missed is the due date for 3.0

IMHO, v3.x will never come.

If you ask 10 MPC users for what they expect from v3.0, you'll end up having 11 different opinions. With that level of expectation, it's impossible to release an update that is not a general disappointment.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think InMusic will release new hardware with more horsepower and the same software underneath.

I agree. I suspect MPC 'Software' 3 is just that, a future update purely for the MPC Software just to make it a better 'daw' rival, and to support the Force. akai don't need to release an MPC 3 firmware, they seem to be doing just fine with the current model of incremental updates and plugins for additional functionality.

One side of me would love to see them completely start again with fresh eyes rather than having a frankenstien's monster of a OS with all these bolt ons, half finished features, head scratching omissions etc, but imagine the pain, imagine the bugs :smh:

.

wrong if ur ask 10 user about 3.0 there will always be common responses; they will all mention an arranger view, they all mention disk streming and they they all mention a mixer screen and bug fixes so while they may have different orders of priority there is always common themes

it seems unlikely that the software will remain at 2.x.x forever; we can look at the example of hype synth; which was previously only on the akai force and then migrated over to the mpc.

so surely its logical to deduce that othe aspect of the force OS (which is already at 3.0) is on its way to the mpc software, including the arranger, mixer and disk streaming

This whole topic on internal FX is the most fan boy shit I have ever heard in my life.

"These FX suck on purpose, because they want you to tweak them" lol. I love the MPC platform, but cmon, the FX could be way better. The arturia FX collection for example sound fire from the jump. These FX leave A LOT to be desired.

I think people get too fixed on version numbers, all these things could be implemented in a 2.x release, just like they've implemented some huge features in the past. I think they made it clear when they went from 2.9 to 2.10 that they weren't playing that 3.0 game.

The bigger question is will they actually charge for these common feature requests, because ultimately they've never charged for any of the big features in the past (not for standalone at least). Or will they just see a big firmware update as another way of generating cash?

Samplekings, it's over to you

As far as we know, 3.0 is just pure speculation from us, the users.

so how do u explain the screenshot link from akai's website showing mpc 3 software in the product section?

:

thats seems like a baseless assumption; going from 2.9 to 2.10 simply means that the update was not significant enuff to warrant the lable of 3.0.

but I imagine when all the akai force features arrive in mpc that will be considered significant enuff update to warrant it being called 3.0

 agree these dudes was reaching; claiming that it was all part of some cunning market research by akai, to make the fx more complicated to get good sounds, is laughable.

I think those kinda claims stem from fanboism as u said; but also from ego, assome people like to complicate they production process to make it obscure and obtainaible (in their mind) as they feel that gives them some kind of elite secret knowledge or makes their work more accomplished, and valuable but truthfully nobody cares how complex or difficult it was to make a specific track.
