I don't. I haven't seen that link.

Also, I don't give half a shit being wrong on an internet forum, so if there's a V3 coming... Welcome it be!!! I just don't see it coming 8)

Peace!

At this point ANYTHING regarding 3.0 is pulled straight out of someones ass. No one here is privy to ANY insider info from Akai, and anyone that MIGHT be, signed an NDA. Even the beta testers have NO info on 3.0.

Nobody here knows shit regardless of how much they think they do or what they read on the internet. Quit taking YouTube influencers word as gospel and you might actually not spend half your life disappointed and just get on with it..

So obviously you have never read my replies to your post.. so I guess I smoke the mole out the hole... I'm a Cubase user for the last 22 years since 5.0 on windows 98se computer PIII with a gig of ram.currently on 12.0.60 my DAW of choice and I use my MPC's in standalone in my DAW ..so as a cubase user why the he'll are complaining about efx when the stock Steinberg plugins run circles are AIR plugins..

maybe spend more time using cubase then complaining about the 1,200 you spend on your live... Yes serato sample works great I have use sometimes.. what ever revision Akai goes with 2.xxx 3.0 your still going to complain... just sell it and go buy something else and complain on that forum....

maybe read through the manual or purchase tutor manual or learn how to tweak your efx to get the sound you want.. better yet pick better sounds the problem is not the effects its you...

sell your equipment and just leave the forum .. Halion really? Kontakt libraries are light years ahead so I know now you need to sell and go.. you so annoying

u made no points about the form factors what does SE have to do with form factors and the direction of future products? nothing that we did not already know there has always been flagship MPCs in th eX form factor so nothing new was learned from the SE. Unless ur missing using the term form factor and are instead refering to the teach spec? form factor denote the dhape of the device, but ur post spoke of the actual spec.

I literally, right there in front of everybody, referred to the continuation of the form factors as-is, plus or minus details, and with changed internals. The whole point is that I don't see them shifting from the One/Live/Keys/X structure because they have a little, cheap, slightly cut-down model for the low end market, a mid-range one for the portable market, a keyboardist's model with the keyboard and sounds, and a well-featured one for the high end studio market. What else could they add? An MPC XXX for better soundtracks on blue movies? I don't see them doing that. Although I would be sorely tempted - not that I'm suggesting anything if you know what I mean and I think you do.

For the brutzero and jpeg commentary on fanboyism: if I were to fawn over a manufacturer, the reanimated corpse of an old company that made its name in a genre that isn't really my scene wouldn't be it. (No disrespect to hiphop, but I spent a lot more time, when the MPC hit the streets, listening to Vangelis than I did to Grandmaster Flash.)

Seriously, if I want a crunchy delay, I can get one right now, without even leaving the room, from the Behringer Neutron, the KORG Volca Keys, and the Dreadbox ErebusV3. If I want fluffed-out reverb, I have that too, and I have a stack of multi-effects pedals that will give me various flavours of vintage broken experiences to taste. I'm not short of flavour. In some ways it's actually harder to get a really clean effect than it is a heavily tinted one. I learned my real sound design skills working in modular, and virtual modular systems. I know how to stack up what I want to get what I want, and I don't need Akai Pro (or anybody else) to hold my hand on that one, but a nice, clean set of reliable workhorses? Sign me up, and Akai Pro delivered. If you want crunch in your sounds, that's cool but delivering clean effects isn't a company doing a bad thing. Delivering a heavily tinted effect that you can't get away from is more crippling in that sense because now you have to jump through hoops to get a clean sound. Precrunching things is like having a preset that you can't replace. MPC Tutor could probably sell a guide on sound design in the MPC series, and how to get the sound that you crave. (Now that Akai Pro included the old school flavour effect layers, it's really not hard.)

Also, a tip of the hat to Lampdog. Love the Q-Links, and the OLED scribble strips just make them better.

"a continuation of the existing form factors, plus or minus a few details like button selections and I/O, but with beefed-up internals."

He miss your point like Shaq at the free throw-line.

I agreed with the rest of your reply about the FX. Akia FXs never been anything to write home about.

This message isn't for you Koe, except for the last word of this paragraph:
Saying an FX is bland isn't the same as it being crappy. It's not fanboyism to not want the built-in FXs to have much of the companies unique sound baked into them. A fanboy of a company would want more of the unique sound of that company. It being difficult to use these FXs creatively because they are flavorless is your problem & that's cool since you unique creative needs & but everyone don't shares the your view & that's OK. But taking someone's opinion without truly consideringthe point they was making & reduce it to fanboyism isn't cool, but do you if that's ya thang

But like I said, it's all about perspective & seeing things from different angles & having the wisdom to pick or even better shape a constructive mindset that'll work best for the current situation. This isn't easy. It's easier to see things only from your initial perspective & run with that limited opinion no matter what - for better or for worse. That's why you have to remember that you can change your mind by changing your perspective.

Pretty sure that's the same reason people have been buying MPC's since 1986..

If I wanted a software controller I would've gone that route, its not really that hard to comprehend.

I think I can read. But thanks for asking. Just asking because you seem unhappy with your setup. I am buying and selling devices all the time. Buying them for the claims and hopes and selling them when I don’t like them. Just showing you a way out. And yes I am using the X mostly standalone. I just start a daw for finishing touches.

Um this IS your reply to my post (and you didnt even quote the correct post either).

You told someone to just use the MPC in controller mode and 'buy some plugins'.

All I did was offer a reason why someone might not want to do that with a device they paid that much money for. It could've been done that way much cheaper. Man try slowing down and actually reading it before you go into keyboard warrior mode. Your spelling and grammar may benefit from it too.

You and mrsmarbury both. Please mrsmarbury, show me where I said I was 'unhappy' in the post you are both referencing?

After all the sound and fury, I guess that the real community sense is that the SE is no big deal.

Unless you have a fetish for '80s beige.

I believe the best guess for a possible 3.0 firmware version are the features on the Akai Force.. Even though this is pure speculation, all other claims would be super speculation.. At least that’s what I think..

If feature wise the coming updates indicate that more Ram is needed I might wait for the MPC X SE (S.E.X) price to come down and get me one..

But right now there is no rush..

Agree whole heartedly; am happy with my Live OG, it has been holding it down since 2017 before that I was on the mpc studio black, which was one akai best looking units imo.

I still maintain if they added a clour touch screen to the studio black that shit would sell buckets (but its a dream) theonly thing I dont like about the current desing of the mpc one and live is the blocky design.

but I can see myself getting an X once the price drops and 3.0 comes out; something about the 80s grey colours just makes the X look more appealing.

and 100 percent the force feature migrating to the live is the most logical perspective to have; anyone claiming that there will be no 3.0 is just overly pessimistic, and its just not tennable position to hold, why would they just stop updating the software it make zero sense.

Rhinestones for days, my friends.
