I’ve been kinda contemplating/considering getting an Mpc One or Live2.
I’m an ex Mpc60 user, and a current S2400 owner; but want an Mpc sequencer again.

My main question is:
Is there any way to expand the audio outputs of the One/Live2 with some sorta simple usb box expansion? Any simple devices out there?

Main reason:
I wanna expand the outputs of the One/Live2 so I can route them into my old 24ch Mackie mixer. (I’m also full OTB HW daw-less setup - synths, fx, etc.)

I know the new Tascam mixers do exactly that (expand outputs)… but, I don’t wanna go that route, as I much much prefer the older 24ch (and even 16ch) Mackie mixers for its’ 6 aux’s (perfect for all my vintage fx racks) and also its’ vintage sound character (esp when overdriven).

Just looking for a solution or simple device to expand the audio-outs of the One/Live 2.

Thanks

You can yes, by using an external audio interface. Compatibility depends on what model you have, some have issues.

Ah... cool! ...that's without the need of a computer, correct?

Ideally (since my setup is all OTB/HW), I don't want a computer involved connecting the One/Live outs to the old Mackie.

Edit:
After skimming thru +10 pages of that thread... sounds like a major pia and/or gamble, lol.
Now I'm reconsidering my want/contemplation for a One/Live2... all I wanted is an mpc with 8-10 outs.

An inexpensive 1u rack with a bunch of outs sounds like the cleanest option... I was thinking the Scarlett 18i20 or Behringer 1820... but the posts are confusing... some say yay, others say no.

Yep no computer involved, just plugging the audio interface in the back through USB.

Yea it is a bit of a gamble depending on what AI you have, personally I did it with the clarett 8Pre + a Scarlett Octo Pre in ADAT and it worked pretty well (but gotta set the clock right!). So I'd say if you go with the Scarlett 18i20 you should be fine. Behringer I don't know, you'd have to check with someone who tried it.

But note that once you set up the external AI, all the INs and OUTs of the MPC are disabled, so you can't have both running at the same time. So you'll have only 8 outs with the Scarlett, but can have more with an ADAT preamp linked to it.

All in all, make sure the device you'll choose has been known to work fine with the MPC, because as you've seen there is some issues with some brands/models
