Much love here for the Hype plug-in?

Having bought my first MPC last fall, I immediately gravitated to newest plugins -- Fabric, OPX4, Stage Piano, Stage EP, Studio Strings. Later got the Mini D.

TBH, didn't pay much attention to Hype. Then recently I started checking it. It sounds really good. And I surprised how many vocal and choir presets there are. So I started googling around for the reviews on it. I'd say a lot of them are mixed or lukewarm.

How about you folks? Do you use Hype, along with the other more recent plug-ins?

I like hype, though I wish it was more controllable. I hope they come out with a Hype Pro.

I also like the cool strange vintage sounds you can easily get out of Odyssey. It's layout is kinda weird but watch some videos on the ARP or the clones Odyssey's to learn why it's designed like that & how take advantage of what makes it unique. Jorb on YouTube did a really good break of the Odyssey.

Thanks. Yeah, so far my ears agree that Hype is worthy. TBH, I'm not a sound designer, more a preset finder and tweaker. So I'm OK if Hype's isn't as editable as some would like, so long as I can turn off effects.

I find it incomprehensible and uninstalled it. However, maybe I should put it back in and give it another try.

There are a lot of plugins/FX that are useless....BUT uninstalling them, seems retarded

I just don't use them! They're not in my way..by any means. Like when people uninstall the Gigabytes of Free Sounds. Like its in their way or something.

Well, sometimes useless stuff gets in the way. If you have tons of useless presets, tons of useless plugins and GBs of free useless sounds, one way or another they make it more difficult for you to focus and go straight to the preset, the plugin or the sound that is actually useful.

the plugins in general are good including hype; but depends what kind of music u make

if ur making music without samples then hype and other plugins are great but if ur tryna get these plugin sounds to sit with samples u pulled from old records then u gonna have to do more fx work to get the sounds to go well with ur samples

also with hype and other plugins if ur making more dance /house/techno/edm then these plugins out the box are more suited to those styles.

if ur making more urban, boombap or trap related type hip hop rap or neo soul; then u will need to get ur sound design hat on cos these sound out the box may not be suitable.

so more work sound design wise would be beeded to get them into a more soulful or urban pallet.

It was a joke that you ironically took literal or maybe you were joking too

Anyway how is it in the way when you don't have to use it? & the best way to use Hype is either for quick presets or make a bunch of custom int patches.

That's kinda dramatic to completely uninstall a free plugin. How long did you mess with it before you gave up?
