1) When I'm on the Live I standalone and I load my first instance of Flavor Pro, the screen freezes for nearly 45 whole seconds while it loads. I can't do anything when this happens. It's fine once it's done, and I can load other instances of it without a significant load time afterward, but is this normal behavior for others?

2) The loading bar no longer shows up when loading presets from Stage Piano and other plug-ins. I never know if what I chose is actually being loaded or if the MPC sh*t the bed until I wait ten seconds. Again, is this normal?

3) The note repeat latch for drum programs seems to not latch like it would for an arp on a keygroup. The repeats stop when I stop holding the pads. I assume this is normal, but worth asking. I swear I saw arps enabled for drum programs at some point, but maybe I'm just making this up.

1)yes, normal.
2)don't know , don't have it
3)you have a workaround: load your drum program on track 1, go to track 2, make it a MIDI program. open the inspector, under the track icon rout the midi signal to track 1 with the SEND TO field, engage your arpeggiator and use it to trigger track 1 drums, you can latch on the arp settings window.

Thank you for the reply; I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. It's odd how no one seems to mention this despite it being normal. I just noticed the 45 second wait times on other plug-ins as well.

That workaround will have do for now. Thanks for the heads up.

2) Not all plugin sounds are the same size, some take longer to load than others. Maybe they took away the loading bar in recent updates cause people were complaining about them, idk.

Using Keys61, 2.11.8, stage piano, there’s no loading bar, loading different presets is about 1-2 seconds and then you play.

Got it. Yeah, this is like a straight up system freeze for close to a full minute on first load. It's to the point where I have to wonder why Akai wouldn't have optimized these plug-ins further to avoid this sort of behavior on MKI units, buuuuut this is InMusic we're talking about here.

I'm on the very latest firmware (2.11.9) and I've never saved a single thing to the internal SD card. I've also reset preferences, and tried pretty much every other suggestion I've read online. Furthermore, I now get this error every time I boot. Funny how it doesn't specify what plugin it's referencing, especially when everything is activated and working. Mind you I never said I wanted to buy a damn thing. Image

i've had the weird "plugin" stuff too for a day, then it's gone.
also check the date\time in your preferences.

I can confirm that the loading bar has disappeared, so for ram heavy patches there is the usual pause before you can play the patch but it now seems odd as there's no indication that it's loading. But this is just 2 or 3 seconds in Fabric XL (I'm testing pianos which I believe are the heaviest patches).

Long freezes are not normal at all, so that should be investigated, but I would assume it is related to a failing disk, so buy yourself a new, high quality SD card, transfer your synths to that and see if that solves it.

The time zone issue is not something I have seen yet. I know there is a bug that causes plugins to de-activate if your time zone changes, but your issue seems different. First thing you should do is check your system clock settings in PREFERENCES > HARDWARE. I believe these should be set automatically whenever you connect to the internet,.

I *highly* doubt it's the internal SSD as I'm using a newer/official WD blue. I should clarify though - when I load Flavor Pro, everything is fine *until* I hit edit, then it takes 45 seconds, but I can speed this up if I button mash. This behavior only happens on the first attempt to edit. I get this delay with other purchased plugins as well. It's almost as though the system stops a first attempt to edit until it can verify purchase.

Whatever the cause, it's not normal behaviour so there is an issue specific to your system. I know you highly doubt it's the drive, but I'd still suggest you remove that drive from your system and use a known 'good' SD card or USB 3.0 drive and see if this solves the problem. Basically in my experience issues like this are related to a disk in one way or another, especially if you've already performed the pref reset etc. Only take a couple of minutes to detach the SSD from the SATA port.

i have the same behaviour when editing the Air Flavor pro, just shorter, it takes 7 seconds to show up in a totally empty project. not a big deal but it's the only plugin that does it. granulator is another slow one on my system, but takes only 1,5 seconds more or less. but yeah, 45 seconds is definitely too much!

This happened to me when I first installed Mini D. Efx pencil would turn into a red background (that red Akai color everyone hates) for 5-7 seconds, afterwards it would continue on into efx edit. After an update it was normal again.

:hmmm:

Uhhhh.. NO - this is *NOT* normal. It should not freeze your screen for 45 seconds - that suggests there's something else going on. Flavor Pro at most takes 7 seconds to load on both my Live II and Force in standalone.
