Mine will freeze for bout ten seconds when i'm accessing my SD Card. Thats bcz its trying to sort thru 1TB thats 75% full. Your Drives may be Close to Maximum Capacity? When Using the Plug-ins, its pulling information from the Synth Folder on your External Storages.

I put my Synth Folder on a Smaller Card/USB Drive, and use my SSD for Storage. That works for me

I have 2 partitions on my MPC X and MPC Keys61 SSD's I installed.
16gb partition was made specifically for SYNTHS folder. Loads up nicely and is not a problem at all.

To no one in particular: I get the reasoning behind the 5-7 second loading time on certain plug-ins - that's not the main issue. The *load* times themselves are fine. Sorry for the confusion. It's when I load Flavor Pro and hit the pencil icon to *hop in and edit* the effect that it takes upward of 45 seconds. If anything this tells me it's a problem with RAM, but the thing is that there *are* no issues with RAM on this unit. I know because I tested on high-end lab equipment with the help of others.

To eliminate all doubt with the SSD, I removed it, installed the plug-in fresh on a known working USB stick, and on a completely empty project with stock everything it clocked in at a full 38 second freeze while all functionality stopped on the screen until the MPC was done debating on whether it should step onto a curb with a thrown hip like the old man it is. Latest firmware, etc. Button mashing *seems* to make it faster, almost as though there's a bottleneck. Yes, I checked for shorts/cracks/etc.

Now that I know this load time isn't normal, it's clear there's something f*cky going on, and after reading random freeze reports from other users, I'm half convinced InMusic knew about production issues and never addressed them publicly. Opinion, of course.

Anyway, I guess that will have to suffice as a non-answer to my original question, especially if you all are getting short load times when hopping in to edit Flavor Pro. Perhaps I'll just go for the 3k instead.

:hmmm:

Uhhhh.. NO - this is *NOT* normal. It should not freeze your screen for 45 seconds - that suggests there's something else going on. Flavor Pro at most takes 7 seconds to load on both my Live II and Force in standalone.

yes, i misread the op, i thought it was 4-5 seconds, i corrected it in the subsequent post.
