Hi,

Been trying to add an insert effect on a program (simple 707 sampled kit), but the effect can't be heard. Tried on other programs in the same project and it does work. I see nothing muted or oddly routed, should be fine but it's not. Anything come to mind on what would be the cause?

It's on an older project so I kind of fear it is a weird bug I can't do anything about. Hope not.

Thanks

MPC-Tutor wrote:Is it happening with all insert FX, or just one in particular (if so, which one)? Have you checked the channel mixer for anything odd looking?
For some reason there's no audio signal visible in the channel mixer, but I can hear the track just fine. This is odd but other than that I don't see anything special. Yea any effect slot won't work, but as I see no signal in the channel mixer I guess the issue is rather there than in the effect section it seems.

Yea it's a bit annoying because there's a lot of automations, mutes and effects on some pads but I guess there's no other way. Thought it was my simple 707 go to program but apparently I did tweak it quite a lot. Then with all the updates and reopening / saving etc, projects end up buggy. Not finishing projects and letting them sit for a while always gets me punished, I should know better by now. :Sigh:
Anyway, thx!

Trying as a last resort to check and clean things up in list edit to see if some hidden weird stuff are messing things up, but if not f*ck that project. Life's too short for this AKAI BS.

Typical MPC session : Experiment things > have fun > BUG! > Waist hours trying fixing > Rage quit and go get a drink.
Rince and repeat next time.

I know it's probably 95% due to the fact that I drag old projects, but that doesn't make it normal or acceptable still.

My wild guess is that it isn‘t routed to PROGRAM or OUTPUT but a SUBMIX, and that might be why you hear it, but can‘t insert audible FX.

I‘d check all relevant routing options. Got me once, too.

Check the on off toggle beside the insert slot on the 4 insert slot window where you select where in the order of things the fx go. i bet you just nudged the on off toggle button.

Just redo the Program from scratch.

As 83dude said, first check the routing and let us know what's set there.
Also what effect is that? Could it be that the setting on the effect are just not aggressive enough to hear any change?
Also - it could be that there is an automation that disables the effect (ex: full dry signal) upon the sequence start - you can check that too and let us know. it might be helpful to other ones to know as well
