haha... I feel you... Ableton is dope. but no matter how much time I take to learn it, if I take a break from it, coming back always takes a little re-learning. That shit never happened with gear like the ASR-10 or Older MPC's, or dare I say Maschine. Certain levels of intuitive workflow will cement in the muscle memory forever.

That said, this is gonna be a good year for competitive innovation. Akai is in a bad position right now. NI is teasing something new, a Maschine-like Keyboard? key61 killer. I wished their keyboards were able to be used like the Maschine... From an intuitive standpoint, it would be the closest thing to an ASR-10 successor. Also - Logic Pro is coming out for the iPad? the ****?

Which software will it use komplete kontrol or maschine also how would kontakt be used great ideas but maschine + is still developing.. I think akai is heading in a good not great direction. Of they can just get audio over usb or allow mcu support with there daw.. something to help with track and not using the mouse..

never used their keyboards so Komplete Kontrol is foreign to me, I think I understand what your saying though.

Interesting? Yes. MPC killer? Not even close. It will take some buyers away from the MPC ecosystem no doubt. Other than the new and exciting features, it is not all that big of a departure from the Akai Force. Akai only has to worry if they stop innovating on the current lines. I'm not even going to lie though. I'll probably buy it to sit next to my X because it can do things the MPC can't even dream of doing. Auto warping and MPE and being able to pitch slide a sample like an instrument? Yes please.

But workflow wise, people who were into the Push will be into this, and MPC heads will be into.... New users will buy both and sell them at a steep discount when it doesn't make them into Beethoven and life will go on as usual.

This is the equal to the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro release the other day in the wake of Fords new Raptor pickup. :worthy:

This not for the doodlers of new MPC One. This for the OG MPC owners that sold their Roland V-Synth technology because that sad sample time limitation. :Sigh:

I have never seen Tutor put up such memes and jokes about InMusic/Akai being on the ropes like Lomo did Haney the other day!

Ableton touch the hem of Roland's garment with that time-stretching!

The product guy evoked the word of Varios!

Just admit you are a hobbyist rather than price ranting today gents.

It would have to be Maschine, which works perfectly fine with their other keyboards.

They'd need to beef up the CPU because Maschine+ can't play a lot of patches and plugins from Komplete Ultimate because it has much higher CPU requirements than Fabric.

If it weren't for that I'd probably never have considered the MPC line as I already had the full library, was making music with Maschine for a year, and was about to get a Maschine+ until I dug a little deeper.

They need to think about upgrading to touch screens.

Cool response, bro.

So we're going to have some marketing thread here for every single new groovebox on the market from other brands in a subforum dedicated to the MPC? There is already a subforum dedicated to third party gear. :?:

I wonder if it sounds good for skisky, no disrespect.. just a jab, love the guy he is a beast.

er no it wont; those who want the latest and greatest will probably just buy this and keep they mpcs and juggled multiple units.

also why so concerned with the real mpc heads vs those who are just dipping into the mpc recently? as long as the product is good for ur workflow why do u care who else uses it?

the mpcs need not be part of ur pesonal ego or some status symbol its a tool

good thing about the push 3 is how slim it is; hopefully akai can maek the mpc live as slim as the mpc touch was.

I always thought the live was needlessley bulky, we know that batteries in laptops and phones are very slim; so not sure why the form factor changed when the mpc touch evolved into the mpc live.

good to see another standalone unit on the market as competition is needed for companies to keep pushing the envelop but yeah this is more aimed at the akia force market share; and the price is a bit mad.

This is only to play down that people feel betrayed by the measly release of the SE where inMusic told us „that’s how innovation works“ and everyone like „okay“. And now there’s the other kid showing his cool new sneakers and everyone sees how innovation should work and now everyone’s going into defense mode because people feel violated.

I just hope inMusic steps it up now and stops the re-release as new BS and starts innovating. Releasing upgrade boards for the X would be a start.

well, i thought about if it was a good idea to put this post here, and i decided that it was, because all the conversations we are having about the SE, about new vs old mpc's, about workflow vs sonics and very often the issue that akai basically had no competition on its market niche popped up. now they have competition, and perhaps it will bring good things to the mpc environment, perhaps not.
that's why i thought it was proper to post it here.
