Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By brainstorm Thu Aug 21, 2003 7:58 pm
I have had my MPC for about 4yrs and my LCD screen is suddenly not working properly. There are lines thru the screen running both horizontaly and vertically where there is a lack of pigment, these lines aren't permanent but are always changing where they are. It dosn't directly effect the working of the MPC but it makes it harder to read the screen. If anyone knows anything about this, or has had similar problems, I am open to suggestion. Does anyone know where they sell MPC replacement parts? Peace

You may want to ask MPC3000 about this, he is very familiar with the hardware in the MPC's.

screen burn, slowly it will get worse and worse till you need to replace it .i have a # for akai parts:1-817-831-9203 ext 293 dont know if this is right but i will soon .my screen is so bad i dont even want to turn the damn thing on. if anyone knows of another place to get the replacement screens please post (i had one bookmarked but it is a dead link now), heard it takes months once you order to get the screen in from akai.

Hi
i posted asking if the lcd is something you can replace yourself
is it as simple as putting in the 8 outs?
this number is not valid anymore
the part from akai is 200$
i heard that if you get the part number and contact a place that makes lcd screens you can get it cheaper
the theory being that akai does not make lcd screens
they just put there name on it and jack up the price
any opinions
my screen is fried
i need to do something and i dont wanna spend 400$ repairing it
if i dont have to
