and in my mind adding new features or functions is a better value proposition to justify new hardware; like the live 1 to live 2; they added features and addressed issues with the location of the volume knob; and reorganised the buttons along wid the speaker so it made sense.

but this one + is nothing new added; much like the X SE added nothing; but at least the X SE got more RAM and all the plugins suit, but in this instance nothing; I think even if they added a battery that would of been something worthwhile.

:WTF:

You have some quaaludes in that Canadian bacon this morning? You act like Akai got up this morning and pissed in your coffee…

Talk about delusional…

Who gives AF that the One+ is an incremental update to an almost 3 & 1/2 year old product? If you think that makes the original One a bad deal or like you’re being nickel and dimed, I’d love to hear how. Instead of insinuating that people who have a different opinion from you are children or delusional, maybe start there. A measured adult argument goes a lot further.

So right at the beginning of the Sweetwater vid, the guy says its got the 'newer' processor from the Live 2 & X.

I'm confused, is the OG One running a different processor??

the scheme is release the same product with no changes and market like its a new product

You have to understand, Akai is NOT marketing this to make you UPGRADE...they're marketing it for New Customers. Hoping to snatch Native Instrument and Ableton customers, plus more.

Of Course its a Cash Grab. That's called Business 101. Akai is not around for Clout. Clout doesn't pay the bills.

Its just Business

In loopop‘s Video the plus shows firmware version 2.12.0.13 Beta. So a new version might be incoming. Hope it’s not just some bugfixes but maybe also some improvements that do not have to be payed for.

how many of the previous updates have u had to pay for? if none, what makes u think that the next bug fix minor release is something u will have to pay for?

Na, that’s not how I mean it. The last couple of updates were mainly to make it possible to use there newest payed plugins. When at least up to 2.9 or 2.10 the minor version introduced new free features as well … there have always been some bugfixes though. Next to new bugs of course. Let's hope they don't give us more workflow improvements or free features because they are heavily working on the next mayor version and not because they think that's good enough now it's time to cash in.

Yeah that's wrong. There is no new "processor". Probably a coffee fueled faux pas.

People with more than half a braincell left will see how much is new. And Akai are not specifically targeting people with less than half a braincell left, thinking HA HA HAA WE GONNA GRAB MONIES NAO. They added a little bit of something and got publicity. New customers will get a slightly upgraded version.

Ok, it wasn't a big upgrade. But you've been getting upgrades all the time, software upgrades. Would it make you happier if you had to pay for them?
