I wish moog would wrap it up. It's not 1970 anymore and they've not created anything unique or innovative since the 1970s / 80s. They're litterally running on fumes because they're so analog that it's counter-productive to their designs. Sure they have some good synths, but they are ancient and theres alot of others out there in the market that make buying a boring ass moog with limited oscillators, warm up time and drift not so attractive.

It was employee owned (since 2015 I believe), but they've confirmed that all those employees have now been bought out.

Interesting to see what changes and what, if anything, stays the same. I believe Moog have a good reputation for customer support, so Moog customers can probably kiss goodbye to that pretty swiftly :lol:

This is hilarious. Behringer ridiculed, and Akai ridiculed for being owned by InMusic and apparently the quality goes to crap. Poor Moog for losing sales because Behringer make a D at a fraction of the cost. And now Moog is in the trash can with them. The irony that the fake outrage story gets owned by itself. Just buy and love what you like.

I think Behringer belongs to Music Tribe (founded by Uli Behringer) , different company than inMusic

Behringer never made a Model D, they built a shrinked version kind a like a plastic car replica 1:10.
Sometimes size does matter... :mrgreen:
Watch some videos of people playing the real thing, knobs, keyboard action etc and then imagine performing on a Model-B :popcorn:

Moog shouldn't have waited until 2022 to re-release the Model D
Roland should have re-issued the 303, due to the massive demand

I think Behringer belongs to Music Tribe (founded by Uli Behringer) , different company than inMusic

I don't think it will mean anything for the MPC. They specialize in analogue synthesis. MPCs are digital. I don't see the overlap. They only have a few VSTs, and one of them is in the MPC range already. It wouldn't surprise me if they had outsourced this design work.

It's possible it will mean nothing at all for the MPC, perhaps some extra synth plugins. inMusic own a lot of companies, only a fraction of that IP seems to make it anywhere near the MPC (e.g. Air), they'll probably just keep on releasing Moog synths, hopefully with the same quality.

Maybe release some budget analog gear under the Akai brand to compete more directly with Behringer? Maybe they'll clone Behringer's stuff, that would really piss off Behringer. Akai Deepmind, Akai Poly D etc, but with actual Moog filters.
