Hi

1 is it possible to import a sample, which the mpc one can detect the key and then maps it to the piano so you can trigger any relevant note from the drum editor like a soft synth? If so how?

2 is it possible to move sample cuts to an existing program with samples already assigned to some pads, and assign the new sliced sample to the spare pads?

Cheers

1) Yes, look up 'keygroup' programs in the manual.

2) Yes. Chop your second bunch of cuts, extract to a new program then use MAIN > Program row pencil > COPY PADS to copy a range of pads from one program to another. Or in the CHOP screen, use process > assign to pad to extract one cut at a time to a specific pad in a specific program. Or just convert your slices and assign them manually to any program in program edit > samples.

What you can't do is extract and append a bunch of slices simultaneously to a specific existing program, it's always a brand new program. But always worth adding this as a feature suggestion.

This, along with the browser, has been on the top of my feature list.

I think there's also a workaround if you use pad tap on the sampler and adjust the slices afterwards. But I'm not 100% sure.
