compilations vinyl.

Im talkin about the newer reprints; where they compile the artists greatest works (not a greats hits) but a clear and plain, reprint. I picked one up and didnt realize it. But should i feel bad? its my only reprint. But i mean, how do you guys feel about the use of a reprint?

I love the record, cause its god mad awesome tracks......but is this cheating?

I mean, i guess i just have an ethically issue that needs to be addressed.

It doesn't matter. If it's dope it's dope.I use wax,c.d.'s and mp3's.You have to think of yourself as an artist(painter). And in being so, imagine painting a picture but only usin one color. You not only limit yourself but you become stagnant, knowhatimean?

Those reprints can come in handy though when you need to scratch the hell out of somethin'.Nobody wants to ruin an original.

I love vinyl. I have no problem copping reprints and compilations but I feel a little guilty sometimes because I want that original. The guilt is not great enough for me to stop copping it though  And the price for some originals are ridiculous like 4000 said. I can't rationalize paying $156 for the Main Source original off Wild Pitch when I can go to ebay and cop the reprint for $24. That's more money for records :D

Oh, there is one original that I've been trying to get and bidded as high as $89 on ebay for it and lost. It's Lord Finesse and DJ Mike Smooth's "Funky Technician" album. I saw in a record store 5-6 years ago for $9 and told myself I'd come back for it. That sh*t was gone when I came back  Now I can't get it for less than $90 anywhere

naw aint no cheatin there... i mean in terms of djin if you need to find a track then you neeeed it and who gonna give a f*ck if its a reprint? obviously diff if you collectin and talkin bout samplin but should you feel bad?, ha, only if you got the money to cop the originals and you bein tight about it otherwise heeellll no. i hardly have money for vinyl full stop so at this point in time, the cheaper the better...
