Can you help me please? How the hell is it possible to bounce (drum/instrument/plugin/midi) clips to audio sampes? No, I don't want to solo the track then resample output :) Just a single function of bouncing a clip into new sample put in the pool.

What did the manual say?

How is that a helpful answer? There might be others among us who might also be curious to know the answer.

Speaking for myself, this isn’t a question that I’ve ever needed an answer to, so I’m not about to read the manual about it. But when I see interesting questions asked here, I am always curious to learn the answers.

It wasn't an answer. It was pointing to where you can find it. The PDF has a search engine. Just type in the word "bounce" & bingo! (Most of the time  ).

How are people willing to spend the money for the Force & but then not spend the time to RTM for a basic thing. So basically I didn't RTM but, I want people that did to just tutor me for free on the basics of using this relatively expensive gear that I paid for because I can't be bothered to look in the manual that has the answer. No I want other people to take time out of their busy life to tell me a simple thing that shouldn't time too much time to find in the manual myself.

I don't mind helping people but, people gotta meet me halfway. Some questions make me wonder if the person did any research before they asked. To them :smh:.... RTFM & have a nice day.

Well said.

 Yup & if a person's has that logic it makes why they don't mind wasting other peoples time by asking basic questions.

Can I just stop you all there. This forum is all about helping and answering questions, so 'what did the manual say?' responses aren't helpful, and definitely not the best way to make new members feel welcome.

I'm not saying you can't suggest someone check out the manual, there's no point regurgitating something that's already covered in the manual, but maybe they aren't even aware there is a manual? Give them a link to the manual, give them a keyphrase to search for.

And if you think the OP is being lazy, fair enough, just don't answer the question, let someone else deal with it. That way he's not 'wasting your time' is he?

I think it happens regularly that the OP isn't aware of there being a manual, or has found the one from version 1.0 which is inexplicably still the top hit in search engines. And that version lacks half of all features, or more, and looks different and things have different names.

The post a new thread form could have a link to a recent PDF...

obTopic: I think there's a function for bouncing an arrangement track, but not a launch clip. Can't see any reason why that's not available in the clip edit function menu as well. The arrangement track is just "clip 0". Likewise, copying from clip 1+ to arrangement track or vice versa isn't allowed. So what is one to do, first record all the stuff to the arrangement track just to be able to bounce?

OK, next I tell someone to RTM I'll post the link to it

Pointing out how someone actions is a waste of time may be helpful to that person & or to others that never considered it from a different view. So if someone learn from my message then no, it wasn't a waste of time.

Flatten Clip
You can now flatten an audio clip, rendering all the edits and regions within the clip bounds to a new audio clip in a single audio file:
1. First, make sure you have stopped transport playback.
2. Open Grid or Clip modes, and then tap the pencil icon in the toolbar to open the Grid Edit window.
3. Select Flatten Track to immediately render all edits and regions within the current track's arrangement to a new audio file.
Select Flatten Track Elastique to also immediately render all edits and regions within the current track's arrangement to a new audio file, but using the Elastique Pro algorithm for any time-stretching or pitch-shifting, providing higher-quality results with less artifacts than Force's standard algorithm.

HouseWithoutMouse wrote:I don't think the OP meant audio clips:

"drum/instrument/plugin/midi"

Right. Just go into track edit & press the Arrow icon at the top of the screen. Beware that Flatten the pad will reset the pad & fX settings, so you may want to make copy of the original first.

Page 181 of manual v3.2.1:

"Tap the down-arrow icon at the top of the screen (next to the Track field) to open the Flatten Pad window, which renders all samples on a pad as an audio sample and places it on the first layer of that pad. The resulting sample is the audio signal produced by that pad at full velocity (127) after the pad channel strip, which means that it includes any assigned pad insert effects and the results of warping the sample.
This function is useful if you need to reduce how CPU-intensive a pad or track is by essentially “embedding” the warping and effects in the sample itself. By default, it will use the name of the first sample. This function works for drum tracks only.
To select the pad, press it or use the Pad menu.
To set the length of the audio tail, use the Audio Tail field. This will add extra seconds to the end of the resulting audio file. This is useful if you are using effects or samples whose sounds exceed the defined audio length (e.g., long reverb or delay, one-shot samples with long decays, etc.). We recommend using an audio tail of at least a couple of seconds.
To name the new sample, tap the Edit Name field, and use the virtual keyboard that appears. To confirm your choice, tap Do It.
To cancel, tap Cancel."

The OP says "clips" and I think that means clips, not pads.

bounce (drum/instrument/plugin/midi) clips to audio sampes

A pad on a trum track means a single pad. When you hit the pad, it plays a sound, a note. Bang. A clip means a whole sequence of notes on a timeline, it can be like a drum beat or a bass pattern. For example a two-bar loop of notes, where you can edit the notes like as in "MIDI notes". The OP wants to render such a loop into a single audio sample. In other words, render a MIDI based loop into an audio loop.

Select the clip & press save & pick the Clip as Audio option. Then pick where to save it. Then, load the sample into a pad or the pool.

You can also pick Audio Mixdown, which has more file formats (WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC, & OGG) & bit depth (8 up to 32F) options, but I think it only for the Arranger. So you'll have to put your clip there first.

Depending on how long the clip is, it can be much faster to record the clip to arrangement (shift+record) and bounce the arrangement track to audio.

In the arrangement, set arrangement length to desired bounce length, for example 2 bars, long-press the track name and select Bounce To Sample.
