Really want Force / Push style step sequencing for melodies and drums but like my MPC One form factor. Given launchpad pro works standalone, I assume it doesn't require too much midi mapping, really just setting up different track channels to correspond via the MPC. Anyone tried this combo?

Guess I was thinking to use Launchpad Pro standalone as a scratch pad for coming up with sequences and then when ready to commit I'd record the midi data into the MPC. Main benefit is that adds non-linear midi patterns (for brainstorming) but eventually when I'm ready for the linear part I transfer/rec into the MPC. Other benefit is the standalone melodic sequencer and more advanced notes/ chord modes.

I use LaunchPad Pro Mk3 with my MPC One, mostly for jam session. I have a template with first 4 tracks set up for external sequencing.
Not controlling anything yet, just sequencing. Easy to record 4 tracks at once when I got something cool. And retrospective record is so helpfull sometimes :)
Then I confirm it is good tool for advanced notes/chord mode in more producing session. I like it very much.
