**** GC.
I vowed never to buy anything from them again. And im being serious for Several serious reasons.
Well, every time I go there they give me a line of Bullshit. I dont claim to be the know it all, but dude, i mean, sometimes they just dont know shit. Now my expectatioins are not high. I dont expect them to be able to explain the whole specs list, or manual, but you cant ask reasonable questions without some salesman twist to it. They will sell you anything. This is pretty obvious, and i think just about any store is like this. BUT WORD OF ADVICE, Research before you go into the store. Dont trust any "recomendations" unless you ask the salesmen whether they have actually used the piece of gear.
As far as prices. I brought a price from the internet in when i wanted to purchase my mpc4000. 1700 NEW. I got extended credit and everything, purchased it, got my reciept. They where not "instore" so they gave me free shipping to send it to me from another store (in anothe city) Anyways, I get a call later that evening. The "salesman" canceled my credit card order (which is illegal if you have already purchased the item) And gave me a line of bull, that there was a mistake and the stores really didnt have them instock. And that the mpc4k was backed up on order from akai. Long story short (several phone calls, etc.) it ends up the salesmen sold me something he couldnt.
I gave up the battle, but basically there were a couple things i could desipher from my experience with the salesman........either he was trying to "scam" me, get the mpc shipped to his stores warehouse, and claim it missing in the system (then take it home) or he was trying to be a "cool guy" and give me the best price on something he had no authority too. Or he was gonna try and sell me a "used mpc4000" (1700, the price for thier B stock). WEll, regardless of the reason, the dude majorly **** up. He did not have my authority to cancel my credit card, even after I had a reciept, and the deal was closed......He lied to me about the mpcs being instock.....and he gave me so much bulllshit to try and make up for his mistake, then tried to convince me to buy a "used one" from another store after all this.......................................and he was a manager.
There is alot more to the story, but its too long winded to post. But he ended up sending me a letter and calling me after he got off work (so no one would find out) anyways, I probably could have got him fired, or atleast got my mpc, and some extras........but it wasnt worth the hassle.....so i bought mine online. GC permanantly lost a customer............who already has around $$$$$ in equipment.....and plan on spending the rest of my life around music! and will definately end up purching more equipment in the future.
Now ^^^this was an isolated case..........But my point is, dont trust a salesman, and know your shit before you purchase. USe GC as a resource to try out gear. And if you purchase instore, dont let it be on the spur of the moment.
Make sure the gear is "instock". DOnt buy monster cables, the hosa ones are just fine. And dont settle for thier price. You can always get the down or get the to throw something in free. Its all how you word it; and present why they should give you a better price.
