IMO if it's happened with two different units then unless there was a faulty batch all with the same issue, it's something unique to your set up. If you are running it in standalone with no disks or peripherals attached, then perhaps you have power problems, maybe these new units are more sensitive to power fluctuations? I'm no expert on that type of thing though. But I really can't see how it can be a software issue, not when it's the same issue across two units.

Other things that would carry over to a second unit could be network related, e.g. wifi related bug? Try going to preferences > wifi and forgetting your network. But not sure how that's going to impact the issue when running in controller mode. Or as someone else said, it could be related to a specific project.

Odd, but this is something Akai should be helping with. Have you had any luck with them?

Yes, I tried but nothing to do

My OG ONE has been trouble free in standalone or controller.
In standalone it has a 256GB SD and a external USB 12oGB attached with a MPK Mini mk3 attached.
The only thing that gets changed in controller mode is the MPK gets connected directly to the computer.
I even use it with a power bank sometimes and still have no issues when I do.

It's really bad if the ONE+ picked up some new issues since the ONE sold well for Akai

There’s something seriously wrong with the One+. Like I said earlier in the thread, I isolated the issue to having storage attached. Tried multiple different brands, options etc and everything connected messed up multiple different units the exact same way. Also thought it was pretty moranic to not be able to read drives attached to the USB port. They even advertised it as storage option but when in controller mode you can’t use it

People who are using the + must be saving shit onto the internal drive because if you plug anything into it it’ll eventually crash

The only things i store on the internal memory are plugin presets, I have a 128Gb Sandisk SD Card and no problems (again, standalone.Never tried controller mode)

usb periphreals tax the board for juice and it causes the soc to brown out... probably some object he's got plugged in. Usb keyboard with a zillion lights or storage me thinks as mentioned previously.

i had this EXACT issue.
spoke to akai / numark / supplier who all saw videos and said it was a faulty unit.
send it back and get a new one asap.

Sounds like they might have shoehorned the internal drive to the existing design and ended up with connections that don't play well together.
Or maybe it has something to do with the bluetooth.

Considering how little was improved we can only guess it's the added internal drive, the battery, bluetooth or the red color causing the new issues.

I hope that Akai hasn't slipped up again with another MPC1000 pad issue situation or buggy MPC5000 deal.

Considering this InMusic Akai is a totally different company from Nukai, they are set up to repeat all the QC duck-ups all over again.
Glad people are slowly starting to stop believing the hype. We really need InMusic to learn from all these recent hiccups and finally start building better hardware (but then again, looking at Maschine Plus and Push 3, maybe this is the new normal).
