just got the mpc 4000, love it to death, my problem is that whenever i want to edit a sequence or a track i.e. name, copy etc..... it says in the manual to highlight the track or sequence, hit the "window" button and up pops an editing window where u could do all that, but when i hit the window button no matter what is highlighted, the timing correct window pops up always, im on version 1.07 thanks!

Hmm.. Never seen that, but get your OS up 1.6 or 1.7. Don't think I even
know 1.07.

The oldest OS update I know about is v1.10, from May 1 2002. Ugh.

So if you're really on v1.07 (and not v1.70), rush and get your OS updated indeed!

If you are using 1.7 and it was a typo, then you might try re-loading the os. i haven't heard of
this before.

You are highlighting "sequence 1" or "Track 1" and pressing Window and the TC comes
up?

thats exactly what is happening, and sorry about the typo it is the 1.7 not 1.07, but none the less, whenever i highlight sequence 1 or track 1, and press the window button the timing correct window pops up, this happend with the os 1.6 and with the 1.7, dont know if its a defect or not, maybe i should contact akai

Is the green light on, just beneath "TIMING CORRECT" ? There might be some dust or hair or sumting under that white key (timing correct button)
.. just a guess...
