Hi,
I recently updated from MPC 2.9.1 to 2.11.10.
It keeps changing the velocity and the envelope of the sample when I play the same sequence.
I installed the 2.12.1 update, hoping that it would fix this, but no luck.
So I went back to 2.9.1 for now, but I'm worried about future updates.
Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?
Any help is appreciated.

That is a big jump in updates. Many things have changed. Did you check your routing, envelopes, effects, lfo, list edit, etc?

Yes I did. I compared every parameter side to side from my old 2012 Macbook Pro (2.9.1) and the new Macbook Pro M2 (2.11.10 & 2.12.1). The reason for the jump is that I didn't wanted to upgrade my Mac, the old one was just fine by me. But I was forced to upgrade because the old one wasn't compatible with most of the new hardware (Serato DJ, etc.).

I searched for a similar bug like mine in the forum. Could this be the q-link bug that many users reported since 2.10?

I had to re-install 2.12.1 to triple check. Nope, no automation, no ghost notes, just a simple 1 bar drum loop, 3 tracks. Different programs for each track, hi-hats, kicks & snares. What in the hell could be the problem? I'm going to lose my mind.

When you go into sample edit, the sample sounds normal?
If yes then something somewhere is affecting the samples performance.
Program Edit, try all the tabs at the bottom, env, lfo, pitch, check out all of them.

Yeah, that's why it's so crazy. Everything is exactly the same, except the version of the software.
I made 2 screen recordings on the same computer to compare. Hope someone can help out.

Found the problem! The envelope behavior is the bug (LFO>Amp)! The more you turn it up the value, it'll sound more crazy and random. I'm glad that I finally found it, but it sucks that I can't use this function anymore.

I mentioned Program Edit, lfo, lol.

Glad you found it. Yeah it's crazy that so many things affect the sound, but, those are the tools provided
and they do a good job of driving you crazy also.

Yeah I know that you mentioned it, but I didn't know that it was gonna behave like that, because they were the same values as before. Thanks for looking out Lambdog, cheers. I accidently found a way to use 2.9.1 on ventura because of this mess, so I'm going back for now.

Well, we all know sometimes projects in older versions don't load up 100 to 100 in new versions. There were alot of changes between 2.9 and 2.11.

It probably would have been worse if you were going backwards in versions.

Yeah, I hear you. But it's kinda sad that basic functions like these are getting unstable. Never had issues with basics since the silver mpc studio. I had to upgrade because the silver mpc studio wasn't compatible with the new laptop, and the black mpc studio requires MPC 2.11.5 to work with osx ventura. I wasn't going back and fourth versions until this happened. I'm just glad that I got it to work (for now) and I really hope Akai secures their fundamentals. Peace
