Trigger a sound with an external pad (Roland PD-8)

Hello, I'm new here

For live sessions, I'd like to trigger sounds with a Roland PD-8.
Is it possible to do it with my MPC Live 2? How?

I believe the PD-8 first has to be connected to a Roland V-Drums 'brain' (e.g. TD-9, TD-25 etc), the pad itself cannot be connected directly to the MPC. You can then connect the MIDI output of the brain to the midi input of the MPC Live so it triggers MPC kits over specific MIDI notes (e.g note 38 = snare).

Thank you for your quick answer. I suppose there is no possibility to connect the pad in the Line In jack and to get an "signal" from the pad to convert as midi signal... (sorry, it seems maybe stupid, but who knows

)
