How to save sounds for live use MPC KEY61

I just got my mpc61 key.
Im trying to set up some sounds for my live gigs in august.
The bad thing is I dont know how to do it easy. Im trying to make sounds for every song we are playing in my band, as sequences, but then my key ranges are not saved, and i have to activate them for every sequence.

How do you do this in a smart way.

If this is not possible, i see no use in keeping this mpc 61 key.

I'm not sure I understand the issue, what do you mean by 'activating my keyranges for every sequence'? Are you refering to pad perform settings, or custom keyrange splits? By 'sounds' , do you mean instruments, or individual samples? Can you describe the problem in more detail, including exactly what it is you are trying to achieve?

All these things are saved as part of the project, so when you re-load the project everything should be exactly as you left it. Are you saving the project file? If so, when to reload the project, what happens to all your settings.

there's no way anyone can help you unless you give more information on the exact issue, i.e. explaining exactly what you are doing, and exactly what is going wrong.

I want to save selfcreated sounds, with layers and splits. Like on a normal synthesizer.
I dont want to chage projekt everytime I play a new song with my band. Loading time i long, compared to roland, nord ex...
I just dont understand why is such a big difference.
Dont call it a synthesizer if its not.

Im considering sending it back and buying some other brand. But i really like the sequencer part if the mpc 61.

and that is my question. How do i organise so my instrument sounds are saved with splits and layers? is that posible??

I got the mpc bible.
Now i just need to find out how to save memory.
Using keygroups and not just plugin sounds.

But im getting there.

At the moment i set it up as sequences, with new tracks and mutegroups/splits/keyranges.
Works great.
Layered sounds in everyone.
Heavy on memory, but its working

I think what the OP is asking is why doesn't the Akai Mpc Keys support Multi's and the ability to select say 4 tracks layer / key split them, and then save a Multi which can be saved and then loaded in any other project at any other time. VS saving an entire project, or sequence..

I too have wondered why they haven't offered this. Now that Akai is in the workstation world, they're going to have to update some things, as people coming from workstations,do understand the need to save and load performances / multi's.

Stage pianos like the YC-88, RD2000, SP7 Grand, and synthesizers like the Montage, Fantom, K2700, and Nautilus are great for live performances. MPCs, not so much. I don’t think I’d ever choose one for that purpose. They are great for production and composition.

It’s always hard to try to make something fit when it’s not particularly suited for the task you have in mind. Why would you choose an MPC over a traditional synthesizer or stage piano?
