I would like to briefly explain my envisioned live setup:

The MPC One is intended to play back various sequences/pads on the Tascam Model 16.
Simultaneously, I plan to send MIDI notes from the MPC to a synthesizer using MIDI, with its audio output plugged into the Tascam.

My question regarding this is:

Does the MPC have any output latency issues when paired with the Tascam as an audio interface?
My concern is whether the MIDI information sent to the synthesizer could be out of sync with the audio coming from the MPC/Tascam.

Thank you in advance for your help.
The setup I am contemplating represents a significant investment, so I would greatly value any advice you can provide.

I do this SAME thing
2 synths + ipad midi'd to MPC X (using POWERED usb 3.0 multi-port hub).
Sometimes the synths control their own sounds, sometimes they ext midi control MPC X plugins.
All synths, ipad audio go to mixer.

Mixer going to audio interface.

I have no noticeable latency at all and have been rocking this setup for years.

No audio/midi feedback issues because all channels are not open all the time.

I suggest *not* buying a tascam model 12 since there are endless posts relating to it under-running. google "tascam model 12 mpc clicks and pops" it's very very common. Look for a different interface..

I am using an MPC one with a umc 1820 (not a tascam but-) it works great... got a microkorg, microfreak, a 303 clone, a guitar and a set of digital decks all plugged in nada for lag. Not only that.. I daisy chain my midi in the ugliest manner (no midi box) and i have no issues with midi going to the proper places on time.

I can record from multiple channels in unison and play out to mutiple channels. No clicking and popping or unreliable performance.

I've very recently got a model 16 and combine it with my MPC ONE and currently 4 external synths. So the MPC is sending midi out to everything (through USB and Midi DIN) then MPC and external synths sounds go into the model 16.

I haven't noticed any latency issues.

I am having a few other issues though so not totally sold in the combo yet. I don't know what is causing it yet but the audio from the MPC audio seems to drop out after a while.

I'm not sure if its when the USb 32 outs are connected to the model16/MPC or if its even just the USB on the model 16 being present on my USB hub or the USB hub, but it even seemed to do it when I turned off '32 outs' and just used the MPC analogue outs - these then dropped out.

I need to do more testing on this, but USB midi stuff is a pain sometimes with this type of setup in general. Sometimes my external synths disappear from the MPC and i have to reboot everything

Thank you for your fast and helpful responses!

@pplastic that doesn’t sound very reliable, nothing worse than a drop out in a Live situation.
Could there really be a problem with the Hub since the external synths dissapear aswell?
Anyone else experiences dropouts?

Does anyone have experience with the Soundcraft Signature MTK models as an interface for the MPC?
