Bluetooth on/off switch in Preferences greyed out

I've had a few occasions where the Bluetooth on/off switch in the Preferences menu was greyed out, so I couldn't turn on Bluetooth - which is a problem because I'm driving some gear via Bluetooth MIDI.

Rebooting a few times will eventually fix this, but that's a no-starter when playing live.

Has anybody else encountered this? If so, am I doing something wrong? Any workarounds/fixes?

Reset preferences? (prefs > info > reset prefs)

I have a show tonight so I'm not going to mess with my preferences before that

Oh, yeah, for sure! Gonna take pics of all the settings!

I use Bluetooth MIDI to trigger video clips, so a few msec latency aren't an issue.
