Does the Force have the same signal path as the MPC Live 2 ?

Hi,

I've borrowed a MPC Live 2 for a couple of hours, to see how the sends, returns and submixes are implemented. I have a good feeling about that machine now, but I'm planning on buying the Force instead of the Live 2, because I want to focus more on the clip launching stuff.

Does the Force have the same signal path, regarding sends, returns and submixes as the Live 2? Otherwise my testing on the Live 2 woudn't be of much use

Short answer:

I don't really know for sure.

Slightly longer answer:

I understand that, if not necessarily identical, they're pretty similar.

Yet longer answer:

I don't think that it matters. I can assure you that the Force has a solid, virtual mixer style of signal path with four inserts per track, and plenty of submixes and sends available.

Basically, if you can find your way around a real-life mixer, you can make things happen on the Force, no problem.

It’s basically the same though forces mixer page is 100 times better imho.

Thanks guys, So the Force also has sends at pad and program stage, before going into the submixes? That way I can send a clean signal to the send-return and get a another route for that signal through the submix with effects which at the end of path layers them both. That is awesome.

Yes, for drumkits you have per-pad effects. For all tracks you have a set of four inserts, plus you also have sends, plus submixes.

And you're right, it is awesome.

The only gotcha is that the interface of the Force is a bit different, so you'll have to get used to that in comparison to the Live 2, but it sounds as if you'll be able to handle that just fine.

It seems I have also per pad sends.

Anyway, Great machine, I hope I finally have the drumcomputer that doesn't make me play a live set linearly, every time the same, like playing a cd
