Hi
2 related questions

1 when you draw in automation between particular bars, how do you work around the issue that it builds in the effect before and after? It's confusing, as if I'm running say a lp filter sweep I don't know what the equivalent filter setting was before I started sweeping/and needs to be at the beginning if next bar.

2 I recorded a live xyfx sweep, i wanted to edit it, because of the issue above I thought list edit would help. I could see on this example I started a fraction late, so I wanted to adjust the time in list. I could see the time on list editor but it wouldn't let me tweak it. Can I do this?

If there are workarounds would be great to hear.

Cheers

Have same issues. Tbh it's almost unusable for me. It's easy to punch in automation in one sequence but it's basically impossible to determine what automation is applied where in the proceeding sequence and it's screwing up all my levels.

On MPC X and Keys61, I’ve tweaked automated (nudges, values) sweeps, mutes, other things in list editor and have not had a problem so far. Getting them back to the same value at the beginning of the next seq was done in list edit.
What am I not understanding here?
I’m missing something aren’t I?
I tend to do my automated filter sweeps inside the plugins or default filter pages, not xy.

It doesn't work any different than any DAW or MIDI sequencer, or even any synth or effect processor. If you move a parameter value, it stays exactly where you left it, there's no 'snapping back' its up to you to pay attention to what your parameter was set to before and do your sweep properly.

While I agree….
I have manually went back into LIST EDIT to place events to MAKE it snap back at the end of a sequence and/or at the beginning of the following seq (if I want perfection then that’s what I do, I don’t always care for perfection).

I’ve also just made longer sequences and just keep sweeping so as to not have to care about list edit so much.

Without using list edit, yeah, you’ll just have to pay attention to what your doing and try your luck getting values back to close what you started with. Not paying attention is counter-intuitive in music creation anyway.

The issue is specific to xy, where in list edit you can see the input, effect and timing. But when you go on the timing to edit it to adjust it wont let you adjust the click. Seems a simple thing to get fixed if it's a bug.

*clock, not click.

Do you have a test project you can upload to dropbox so I can help troubleshoot
or steps to recreate the problem so I can check it out on my end?

Cheers, simplest way to recreat is to to do a filter sweep and then try to tweak timings in list edit. I.e start sweep a bar later. When you get to the clock times on mine it won't let you adjust them. But for other events it will.

Aiight, I’m back like vertebrae.

In main menu, I put XY on the first efx slot on a drum program.
Overdub automation, recorded fine. I went into list edit, I see my automation events.
Y axis is greyed out, X axis is able to be moved around. Look closely at the event times.
A single X and Y have the same clock, change an X value and the same clocked Y event should light up/un-grey and you’ll be able to nudge it. I don’t feel it’s a bug, I feel it’s the way that effect works. I was able to un-grey all Y axis events (individually) and move them wherever however I wanted.

I tried on mpc x and mpc keys61, same result.
